Since It's Slow

Hola from California!

I had to come here and let everyone know of some juicy gossip I got from a friend.

Take this for what it is worth, here is my source: My brother and I's best buddy used to date JR's daughter awhile back and they are still friends. I called my buddy for the whole happy holidays thing today and caught up with him. Here is what he told me:

That Kenny wants Tejada and is willing to give up Fields and a young pitching stud combined with whatever else to make it work out. He also said they prefer Crede to Fields and are really just trying to up Fields value in a trade right now. All of the recent young arms are being acquired for a possible run at Miggy.

My take: this would make a lot of sense for them as a new leadoff man / SS / veteran. I think Miggy could replace Uribe and Pods in one move.

Again, just take that for what it is worth. I just thought I'd share.

Miggy

Iguchi

Paulie

Thome

Dye

That is sick.

Now take it with a grain of salt, but Graden actually has been a reliable poster in the past. I know it probably won't happen, but there's nothing else to discuss today so meh.

I cannot see trading Fields unless Crede is extended. I also don't know about Tejada leading off.

And somebody will tell you real soon that Tejada will NEVER play for the Sox.

Well the leading off part was his thoughts on a potential trade with them. Tejada more likely would bat #3 or 4.

Tejada almost DID play for the Sox before going to Baltimore. Never say never. With that, I'm on the record saying this dude is bored.

Me or Tejada?

I'm pretty sure I'm more bored since Tejada has about 11 mil to spend on finding something entertaining to do.

The person who started the rumor, which if I wasn't clear, I think is complete poo poo.

I banged KW's cleaning lady two hours ago and she told me that the Sox are gonna trade for Griffey and Chavez for Nick Lemon's shoes, Demetrius Banks and a new offensive statistic. I'll keep u doods posted.

Damn you!!! I was just going to edit in a Chavez bit. :fight :bang

Care to explain. Not that I'm trying to sound like a smartass, I'm just bored so I got the time to read a well thought out post.

It's the one thing I've heard consistently from people around the Sox organization, that KW and Ozzie aren't exactly big fans of Miguel these days. They were enamored with him following his Oakland days but have soured on him to the point where KW doesn't want Tejada in his clubhouse and Ozzie doesn't want to coach him.

I'll give you the opposite of a well thought out post:

He's been connected to steroids on several occasions. I wouldn't be shocked if his name is included within the 100 collected by the government.

Where would you bat Tejada? 2nd? Pods, Tejada, Dye, Thome, Pauly, AJ, Crede, Iguchi, Anderson? That's one way to make up for some pitching loss...Pods needs to get off the team. He's out of place in a lineup like that.

Where would you play him??????????? :drink

Jokes aside, I would love it if we got Tejada. What that would do is allow us to keep Crede at 3B for next 2 years, move Uribe to the bench and be the infield utility guy to play 70 games at 2B, SS and 3B (relieving Crede if he has back issues we need to worry about). Tejada would help us solve the hitting the lefty problem.

I could live with a line up of:

Pods

Iguchi

Tejada

Thome

Paulie

Dye

AJP

Crede

Anderson

Uribe + Cintron - Super infield subs

Sweeney + "I forget his name...geez"- OF subs

If Anderson can play the way he played 2nd half of last year and continue his stellar D, and if Pods can simply return to what he did 2 years back, we are set to take this division with that lineup, even if we have to rotate the 5th starter between Floyd, Danks, Gio etc (hoping we do not trade one of them in the deal)
