Felix Hernandez looking like a BEAST.

God I always loved him. I hope he breaks out this season. His stuff is just unreal and what is he... only 21?

EDIT: Only 20. God damn.

Gil Meche gave up 1 run in 7.1 IP today.

That entire team looked good, though still relatively untalented. They don't look like a 90 loss team right now, though talent usually does tend to even itself out.

Soon, but he's still not 21. Still just 20 years old. F'n wow.

I was watching highlights earlier on ESPN. He's unbelievable. It's no coincidence Hernandez happened to record a career high in strikeouts this afternoon. The Mariners are finally allowing him to throw his slider. IIRC, it was rated a 80/80 by scouts.

I'm hoping our World Series victory, coupled with Guillen's popularity and recently created baseball camp, gives our organization a literal stranglehold on talent from Venezuela.

If an organization such as the Mariners can sign Hernandez, and the Colorado Rockies Franklin Morales, it shouldn't be impossible to use the popularity of the White Sox to its fullest.

That's why I'm interested in the Great Fall's roster this upcoming season. It's quite possible whomever we have signed since the World Series is pitching there. Only problem is I'll have to wait ~ 77 days to find out.

Looks like another year of my annual mid round steal, Aaron Harang, producing big time for me. One day, people will realize how good he is. Just amazing he became the first pitcher to ever lead his league in wins and k's last year and not win the Cy Young. And not only did he not win the Cy, he didn't get a SINGLE VOTE AT ALL. Talk about underrated.

Also, King Felix will be a beast until he inevitably goes Liriano on his elbow later this year. And if Ben Sheets stays healthy all year, the Brewers are a LOCK in the NL Central. I don't think that's possible, but they could win that division even if he gets hurt. I really like them.

On another note. Kenny Lofton, one of the best lead off hitters of the last several years just stole his 600th base tonight.

Really wish the Sox looked at him for LF this year. He's a much better leadoff man than either Pods or Erstad, plus he'd be a great one year option -- Sweeney could take over in a year.

I think there were a couple of decent one year options available that the Sox should've looked at -- Lofton, Alou, Jenkins (Milwaukee via trade). As you can see, I'm not extremely happy about our LF situation.

Hmm, I bought MLB.TV premium, and when I click the 700K feed, the bottom of windows media player says 'playing at 400K'. The Seattle Prem link doesn't even work for me. Looks like I have to go through Mosaic, which I hate though and also had issues today. You had spring, get your crap together MLB, especially if you're going to pull this exclusivity crap

EDIT: Okay, I found some games where 700 K would work. It's decent, but when it looks good, it seems the 400 feed isn't that far off. You can tell a difference, but I think it should be better. The Sun night telecast looked good but it looked just as good on 400 K too. Maybe a little more detail, but still a little blurriness, especially if you go full screen.

Interesting Sox-related note on the KC/BOS game...

Ross Gload is apparently the starting LF for the Royals (nominally, he's platooning with Emil Brown, but Gload's hits lefty and started on Opening Day), and played the whole game there for them. He was 1 for 4, scored once, and the most interesting part... had an outfield assist at 2nd base. Check out the video - he actually made a very nice defensive play out there.

EDIT: I can't link the video, so here is a link to the recap, see the video on the right.
