fathom
Joe Morgan, who has never said a superlative about any non-minority in baseball, proclaimed Gary Sheffield to be the most feared hitter in the entire major leagues. He spent a good 5 minutes saying how great he is during the first inning tonight.
BearSox
QUOTE(Brian @ May 13, 2007 -> 05:27 PM) Giants called up rookie Fred Lewis today and started in his first major league game...oh yeah, he hit for the cycle!!! It was his 3rd ML start actually... but none-the-less, it was still amazing. Hey, 3 of this hits (not the single) were oppo! Would be nice to see some of our hitters go oppo... Actually, Lewis played in 13 games last year as well.

I love Gwynn Jr. The guy plays the game right (just like one of my all time fav's, his old man). I mentioned Jr.'s name before and everyone said he sucked. I'm still a fan of his. whitesoxfan101
The Legend Jack Cust just hit a solo HR over the center field wall to break a 2-2 tie with Kansas City in the bottom of the 8th and put Joe Blanton in position to move to 5-1. Amazing. EDIT: Oakland blew it in the 9th and lost 4-3, but Cust is still the man. Also, Kip Wells is now 1-8 with a 6.75 ERA. Look out Mike Maroth, 21 losses might have company soon (or if nothing else, Kip's personal career high of 18 losses set in 2005 is in jeopardy).
