AROD with another amateur moment. Posada pops one up on the infield with 2 outs, AROD running to third yells, "I Got It." Clark, the Jays 3B, thought it was his team mate and let the ball fall and a run scored. MacDonald started jawing with ARod.

May see some more photoshop goodness as ARod was standing at third, waving his finger like a woman at MacDonald.

He did not say "i got it" for the record. He said something close to "hah"

The guy went the extra mile to try to help his team get a much needed win.

THAT BASTARD!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just remember, Alex Rodriguez is a selfish bastard who always puts himself ahead of the team there's a reason why he's never won anything. He does s*** like this for personal gain.

I don't see anything wrong with that. I'd be proud if Juan Uribe did it. If Darin Erstad did it, we'd never stop hearing about what a heady ballplayer he is. But since it's A-Rod, a player with infinite talent and the money that goes with that talent, he'll be raked over the coals for being "Bush League."

What about when he deeked Derrek Lee into believing the ball was foul saving a run?

Prince Fielder has taken over the role from Bonds and Pujols as the most exciting player to watch bat.

I always consider how fast an all you can eat buffet would go out of business if he and his dad made a visit 3 times a week.

Regardless, there's no argument from me with your assessment.

I realize he's having a crummy year, but there is absolutely no person I enjoy watching hit more than Manny Ramirez. The guy is freaking text-book. He drives the s*** out of the inside pitch and will wait on the outside pitch and spray it to right/right center.

I always thought Manny was one of the few batters that would set a pitcher up to throw a pitch somewhere he wants it. Like look badly on an inside pitch so he could get another crack at it or something. Hard to disagree.

Prince needs to be consistent over a few years for me to consider him one of the funner batters to watch.

A-Rod is definitely changed -- for better or for worse, I don't know -- this year. He just hit an opposite field shot in the ninth to put the Yanks ahead of the BoSox (that's not the wierd part, no 'not-clutch' joke here) and, after tagging home plate, he put his hand over the little camera that ESPN Sunday Night baseball has that follows guys down the third base line on their home-run trot. If I saw correctly, he also shot a little smile, too.

Gosh I hope he opts out and the Sox get him.

A choker like him would be a perfect fit.

He could have been clutch and the Yankees still wouldn't have made it to the World Series in any of his years with New York.

That choker/non-clutch s*** with ARod is really disturbing. I don't give a s***, the dude can choke all he wants to, he's still a .280 30 100 .900 player in his worst years, and then when he has good years, he's a .320 50 130 player.

Good article looking back at the 2002 draft. I found it interesting

I'm reasonably sure the Sox have produced more major leaguers out of that draft than any other team.

Ring, Reed, McCarthy, Logan, Tracey, and Marsall have all made the bigs. Obviously, that's a lot of marginal talent, but the Sox are first in something! Quanity over quality baby!

Also 49th rounder, Fernando Hernandez, having a great year in AA, will need to be protected next year and still has a shot as a reliever.

Indeed.

This article shows why you shouldn't put all your eggs in draft position and how difficult it is to develop effective major league players from college and high school kids. Even the Twins' first effective pick wasn't until the sixth round.
