Rockies beat the Yanks 4-3 today to sweep 3 in a row from the formerly red hot New Yorkers. The Rockies are now 20-7 in their last 27 to turn a horrid 18-27 to a respectable by NL standards 38-34, only 3 and a half out of 1st (although also only good for 4th in the quietly really good NL West). Jeff Francis is on fire and today's winner, Rodrigo Lopez, has had a bewildering resurgance this year. And they have a lot of guys that can hit.

Also, the Brewers are red hot and if you take a look at their schedule the next few weeks, they have a chance to really make hay and build a lead in the NL Central that is insurmountable.

More on Tejada, from Rotoworld:

The Orioles confirmed that Miguel Tejada has a small, non-displaced fracture in his left wrist and said the shortstop hopes to play through the injury.

"It's just a crack," VP of baseball operations Jim Duquette said. "That means it will heal, but if you re-injure it and it becomes a fracture, then the only way to make it heal properly is to put a screw in it. That's certainly more complicated." Doctors told team officials that it was going to be a week to 10 days before the injury starts healing. If Tejada wants to try to play through it, the Orioles would probably let him. "He said that he was sore, but he could play," Duquette said. "He thinks it is going to feel better. He seems to have a very high pain threshold, but you don't want to risk making it worse." Jun. 22 - 1:16 am et

So much for his trade value. Trying to play through it sounds nuts. Is he gonna do this one-bunt-and-out crap every game for the next month? He said he couldn't swing without pain yesterday. So now he'll just play through it? It's an ugly scene in Baltimore.

Edit: Okay, they are sane. Tejada to the dl, the streak is over.

1 month ago today, Chone Figgins was hitting .123, and he is now hitting .302 and even had 3 walks today. That's about as drastic a turnaround as you can find considering how many AB's Figgins had when his average was at the low point (he missed almost all of April, but still).

Cough Arod Cough. Well Arod is still the best player in the game.

In a Sunday Night game a month ago, Joe Morgan gave a 5 minute speech about why Sheffield is not only the best hitter in the game, but also the best clubhouse person and possibly deserving of a Nobel Peace Prize.

Ya, I saw that. Joe Morgan is a freaking boob. I wanted him to shut up and just let Schurholtz talk (the best GM in baseball).

BTW, it's too bad UC-Irvine didn't face Oregon St in the finals. The Beavers-'Eaters scoreboard would have been a classic.

Also, the Verlander/Bonderman/Miller trio is going to be just filthy.

Looks like indeed we'll have to add Porcello.

Jerry Reinsdorf is still a cheap bastard. If he'd have spent the money last offseason, we'd be in first place right now!

HAHAHA, good to know the world is right and the Cubs still suck at life. And the Brew Crew already won.

Nice jinx!

Soriano's won the Cubs 4 straight games now.
