Soxtalk Community Prediction: Juan Uribe

I see three options for Juan...

A. 15 to life

B. He has to go back and forth twice a month, and is highly erratic, playing only two thirds of the time: .240/15/50 in 110 games. Worst defensive season in his career as well.

C. He is finally released from charges, and plays good and angry: .268/25/80, but his defense slips a bit.

Even if Uribe's legal troubles went away, he looked in the last photo we saw of him like he'd added on even more weight. He looks out of shape, distracted, and probably is still as stubborn as ever on his swing. Especially if he's in South America, the odds are he hasn't spent much time working with Walker on his swing.

I'd like to think he'll get better, but I think he's just going to fade away.

I wouldnt say theres no chance he doesnt have a decent year.. but Juan has never shown anything in previous seasons that proves he's able to stay focused and consistent for an entire season. With the added weight and legal troubles and factor in his regression from last year... it's not looking good for Sosa Jr.

.219 12 31

I hope I'm dead wrong.

Im suspecting legal trouble to get in the way leading to a disapointing (again) season of .231 30 RBI 7HR

these stats come from less time due to the emergence of Cintron as the starter and uribe the defensive bench replacement

With Juan's swing he will never be a consistent offense threat and he will be considered an offensive liabilty. He no longer has a future past 07 with this team unless there is a miracle and he hits .270 with his defense of 06.I predict he will be traded before the deadline.
