GreatScott82
I went in 2004 and in 2005 and it was a blast!! I didn't go last year because i knew it would be chaotic since they just came off a world series title, not to mention they sold out in record time where i didn't even get a chance to buy some tickets. To those who went in 2006 did you have any fun? Or was it indeed all crazy with no room to walk and such? I think this year's Soxfest will be good, they raised the prices and put it in a smaller facility which means there will be less fans and more oppurtunity to meet the players and have some room to walk. For those who are going let us know how it is. I'm guessing they are still doing the Q & A with the fans in regards to KW, Ozzie and Hawk?!? That is by far my favorite part of the event. It will be interesting to see what kind of questions the fans will raise in regards to keeping Pods, and trading away both Garcia AND McCarthy. I wish i could go! Have fun Sox fans! Soxfest this week, and the Superbowl next week, couldn't be any better time to be a Chicago Sports fan.
Iwritecode
QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jan 22, 2007 -> 04:31 PM) Went the past three years, but due to the fact that they raised the prices, not going this year. Ditto. I think I'm about the third person in this thread to agree with this statement.
watchtower41
I forget what they charged last year?? Obviously it should have been more... especially with people getting up to 100$ a pop on craigslist. $30 this year isnt horrible, but certainly not reasonable either. It basically puts the event on par with other major sports memoribilia shows as far as admission goes now-a-days.

And a recap of the Ozzie/Hawk/whoever discussion. I have never LMAO so much as I was at the one in Jan. 2005 and Hawk was saying how the 2004 team was one of the best he's seen and people in the crowd were not having it, especially these two dudes behind me. That nite at the Seminar ............. was absolutely MUST SEE TV. For those of you who were not there, let me tell you, you got to see 1st Hand what the wrath of SOX fans was actually like. I love how media here try to tell you the SOX fanbase isnt "passionate", or a small minority of us think that only a small minority complain about the way the team is being run. People were outright catcalling from all over the ballroom, disagreeing with almost every "pandering" statement being discussed by Kenny Williams, Ozzie and Hawk. Someone yelled "because your cheap!" and the whole ballroom cheered and clapped. Kudos to the guys on stage for really keeping their cool, I thought the Kenny was going to lose it, and leave the stage. I remember being angry that Hawk was playing devils advocate, in this case taking the middle ground on the stance between fans and Kenny (he was hosting though) I also remember laughing to myself and thinking, man this is like a Jerry Springer show (SunTimes next day put that exactly on its front cover!) The SOX finally understood the passion of the fans

Better get in line early, those who are going.

I would guess the players will not have an issue making sure everyone gets an autograph if they are in line.
southsider2k5
Well after last year, that was probably a pseduo-bribe to get the players to come back again. Yikes it was scary. It still does seeem strange to not be going. It has been years.
