I hate to be a critic, but why are there two awards for political views, and one for baseball views?

I mean, afterall, this IS a White Sox message board.

....and those 2 aren't really even a contest of anything with the hundreds of registered posters IMO. It's always the same people.

Conservatives=NUKE, YASNY, kapomet, Alpha Dog

Liberal=Balta, Flasoxjim, Soxy, LCR, Texsox, Rex Kickass.

I want to point something out...if you got new ideas for awards throw them out there. I know we plan on rolling out some more to this list and if you come up with a cool idea we'll definitely add it (afterall, I think by now you've realized that we run this board with the idea of making all the members happy so if you every have suggestions you should all know by now to throw em out, whether on the board or via PM).

Ozzie Award (best in-game analyst)

KW Award (best arm chair GM)

Hawk Award (biggest Sox homer)

Half-empty Award (most pessimistic Sox fan)

Half-full Award (most optimistic Sox fan)

Padilla/Merkin/Rogers/Cowley Award (best Soxtalk writer)

others could be thought of too, cuz those were just off the top of my head.

Hey, one year I was on both lists :D

Personal opinion, while I will proudly wear a liberal title, I would not wear a Hugo Chavez title. Frankly I'm a little disappointed at that description.

Yeah.........and Pat Robertson?! What's that about? He's not a conservative, he's a straight up loon.

I move that we rename the political awards Ronald Reagan for Conservatives and JFK for Liberals.

There you go again, trying to rename everything for Reagan.

Weren't they Reagan/JFK in the past? Perhaps, ah, it'd be better to rename them for a different Conservative/Liberal.

It was Rush Limbaugh and JFK before.

One other category that's missing is "Minor League Corespondent"

I formerly pass the legislation and tomorrow I'll make a couple adds to the main posts (most of wite's will be added as will nuke's renaming of the award to the Reagan/JFK awards.

Consider Paul Simon / Jim Thompson keeping a nice local slant and every Sox fan should have a soft spot for Big Jim.

I like all of those ideas. Although, I am hoping that last one is NOT called the Cowley award.
