southsider2k5
Truer words have never been spoken. However, on the bright side, Mark may have just become a Sox. He wants to rip the M-f ScRubs. Gotta love him for that. or is he auditioning for St. Louis This is what MB had to say to the Trib after the series Close to his roots Mark Buehrle won't apologize for wanting the St. Louis Cardinals to succeed. For one, they're Buehrle's hometown team. Two, they play in a different league. Buehrle said Saturday he wanted to beat the Cubs "because I'm on the White Sox but also for the Cardinals. I'm still a Cardinals fan. They're in the same division. So beat 'em and hope the Cardinals get one game closer." Buehrle said Sunday that he isn't the only player who roots for his hometown team. "But I'm the only one who comes out and says it," he said. "I hope no one takes it wrong. I don't care who I'm playing for, I'm always going to be a Cardinals fan. Nothing's going to take that away from me. "I said it [saturday] just joking around, but I'm serious at the same time. It has nothing to do with wanting to play for the Cardinals. "I just said it's nice beating [the Cubs] for two reasons."

Texsox
My thought is simple Mark, grow the f*** up. You're getting paid to play for the White Sox. Forget every other team and concentrate on who's making you a very wealthy man.

Winning Ugly
E-Lo, Garland, and Wright are pitching vs Minny. Where has this been confirmed. I just read somewhere that it's E-Lo, Garland, MB against the Twins and Colon, Wright, E-Lo against the Cubs. ESPN has that also, for what that's worth. Soxplosion
Umm, someone said that Buehrle should be moved up to face the Twins because they have problems with lefties. Thats a good point, but they dont struggle with Buehrle. This year, Buehrle is 0-2 with a 10.45 ERA against the Twins. Id do what abozichiu would do... Most of that is the abberation of his one horrible start in the dome. If this guy is going to be our #1 starter or even #2 he needs to learn to win in the Dome, it is as easy as that. Molto
if Buehrle wants to be paid money and claims his losses are the fault of his teammates, he better be able to go up against the best team in the division on the road. he's here till 2006 (outside of a trade), and the Twins aren't getting worse anytime soon. he better figure things out and stop finding excuses, pointing fingers. You aren't a FA unless you have 6 years of MLB service time and you get arbitration after 3 years of service.
Rex Hudler
I don't have a problem with the comments Mark made. So he likes the Cardinals. Big deal.
Texsox
I don't have a problem with the comments Mark made. So he likes the Cardinals. Big deal. You would think when he's sitting at 3-10 on the season he would have bigger reasons to want to win than the fact it would help "his" team. Comments like this can come back to haunt him like next season if MLB decides to create an "instant rivalry" like Sox-Cards. Hope he gives 100%. He claims no other player mentions they pull for their hometown team. Well Dah Mark, do you think there's a good reason for it? He opened himself up for criticism. YASNY
If Mark Buehrle, growing up a Cardinals fan, decides he's a die hard Cardinals fan, how can I, having been a White Sox fan for 40+ years, criticize that. If I was playing for the Cardinals, I would still be a White Sox fan, without a doubt.
