Anna Nicole Smith dead

Definitly an interesting interview replayed on CNN tonight. An interview with Anna Nicole Smith's mother saying that she knew 100%, no questions asked, that her grandson, Anna's son, Daniel never overdosed purposely, didn't kill himself, etc... She then proceeded to say that "Vicky Linn, if you don't watch out for the people you're with, you will be next."

I don't know why this story is interesting to me, but everything I'm seeing is making it more and more crazy.

I'm interested to see where this goes.

On TV tonight, Nancy Grace was saying that her "husband", Howard Stern, was missing in action during a large portion of the morning leading up to her death, which was out of character for him.

Everyone seems to be reporting something different. The Hollywood, Fla news said the police said he was in the room, CNN said he was not, earlier Court TV said he was in Miami... :huh

As an avid Howard Stern (the real one), I remember a couple episodes in the past where Anna's Stern and him were getting in heated arguments. The guy always came off as a douchebag to me, a guy who had taken complete control of her life. Still, I don't know why he'd want Anna and her son dead, he was reaping the benefits financially with all the money she was bringing in.

Oh, and also, she may not have OD'ed exactly, but no doubt whatever killed her was more than likely a result from a ton of drug abuse, both non-prescription and prescription.

As R&W eluded to, HKS has been being accused of keeping her doped up for years. I would not be at all surprised to find out she had some assistance if it turns out to be an OD.

As the "father" of Dannilynn (sp?) he would have complete control over the Marshall $$ which was apparently close to being settled since Pierce had passed away. And I don't think ANS was that well off. I recall something in People Mag about her not paying rent at the Bahamas house.

She would have cried for any of us that died and showed us a great deal of remorse, sadness, etc. She was famous for her boobs and nailing an old billionaire. Her contribution to society will not be missed, there will be a thousand people today that will die in anonymity who contributed more as a parent, teacher, community leader, etc. than her. I'm not saying that to disparage her, but to point out the celebrity worship this country is on. People jumping in to defend her and her life. Why? Because she was famous for being famous.

True. Also that thing from wiki that someone posted about her not paying for the special autopsy procedure for her son. Man, this story just gets crazier by the minute.

I'm more annoyed that this took away all of Amaechi's attention. It's a fascinating topic regarding gays in the NBA, as there's been frequent talk about many famous NBA players being on the "DL".

I completely agree.

I love the Cory Lidle situation. Everybody was so sad and so remorseful, but in the large scheme of things people unwillingly lose there lives every second of the day. As I type this for instance. I'm moreso interested in this story because it's quickly turning into a Forensic Files or a Cold Case type story, and I'm an avid fan of those types of shows.

Yeah I agree with Steff, it might not seem selfish because someone's just taking their own life, but the rest of the family has to deal with it wondering what they could've done to prevent it. It's just not a pretty situation, it's happened in my family before.

Well, a start would be not to call the person selfish, eh?

I'm gonna go out on a limb here... but I bet when she is old enough to understand, her daughter wont agree.

I don't think they mind so much after they commit the act.

I was completely agreeing with how people should be just as sad/remorseful for Joe Schmo who died of cancer than for Anna Nicole Smith. Not that because I wasn't a fan of her as a celebrity I don't care that she's dead. You're right, even though it's no sweat off my back, I certainly am hoping and praying for that little girl.

Oh, I guess nobody ever says that it's selfish before hand? Even just the pure thought of it?

Not a problem. :)

Quick question. Did she have implants when she posed in playboy?

I'd be shocked if she hadn't.

..."People jumping in to defend her and her life."

You mean on TV? Because I'm not sure anyone here is doing it.

I think it's precisely because I don't worship celebrities that I take a wait and see attitude about these things. Just as I would if the story was about a regular Joe. It's just a matter of being fair and respectful.

Knowing someone who committed suicide and watching their family have to deal with what they left behind... this is total bulls***.

Was this person clinically depressed? If so, did you get to experience the mental pain and anguish they had 'to deal' with each day through a chemically inbalanced brain? It seems hard to make a blanket statement such as yours without having the disease yourself.

you don't call the person selfish, the family blames themselves for it.

That I understand. But isn't there some amount of selfishness in calling the deceased selfish after the facts? "He killed himself and it's my fault. Now I have to grieve the rest of my life over this." That's not selfish?

I can see where you're getting at too. The bottom line is if someone kills themselves or even wants to kill themself, then something or someone messed up along the line. I personally have no sympathy for anyone to kills themselves because that's their own choice. I just feel for the loved ones of that person.

I loved watching Access Hollywood earlier. They approached her death entering the break as some celebrity gossip feature. "Next, the TRAGIC death of Anna Nicole Smith;" which sounded more like "OMG, this is great news!"
