GaelicSoxFan
Last night was not a good night for me. 24 won. The only 24s I like are the one on Monday nights on Fox and the one manning the hot corner for the Sox.
Queen Prawn
I wasn't happy about that or the cheesy flying of the 3 flag either. I still don't get how the heck he managed to be first after being on pit road when the caution came out.
GaelicSoxFan
I'm lookin' forward to Talladega this weekend... My NASCAR PTC this weekend is #17 (but then he's my PTC every race ).

GaelicSoxFan
Did you see Tony Stewart salute Gilliland? He was PO'd after the wreck. I wouldn't be suprised if that was orchestrated by or on behalf of Gordon so he could get the stupid record. Stewart was coming on strong and might've been able to challenge Gordon for the checkered flag.
Queen Prawn
That was the only part of the race Brian watched and he got a kick out of Stewart's salute. I agree that is seemed scripted. I think Tony was more right than wrong when he said that NASCAR has become more like the WWE than racing anymore.
Queen Prawn
I am surprised, no comments about Junya leaving DEI. Some rumors point at him becoming a teammate of my boy which I am not too keen about. I just hope that RC has more honor and loyalty than JR (Jack Roush). Ah, I see a separate thread - off to read and comment. Edited May 12, 2007 by Queen Prawn
GaelicSoxFan
When in the hell is someone gonna end the Hendrick dominance at the COT races???
Queen Prawn
I don't know, but I do know that I am no longer going to waste my time watching the races. I am glad that Jeff B scored a top 10 (with a car that was a top 20 at best), but I am sick of the Hendrick dominance.
Queen Prawn
Bill Elliot will be piloting the 21 on a race by race basis. I am glad for this because it guarantees the 21 will be in at least 6 more races. While I think Schrader is a nice guy, he isn't cutting it this year. I don't believe for a moment that it is all the car as during Rudd's second year, the car was on the up and up (a couple 2nd place finishes and a bunch of top 10s/ top 15s - he was the hottest guy not in the chase that year - better than most of the guys that were in the chase). I also don't think it is all him either. Something just isn't there. It wasn't the crew chief as the guy that is crew chief this year is a new dude. GaelicSoxFan
QUOTE(longshot7 @ Jun 5, 2007 -> 03:39 PM) But there's some big names in Busch too, right? Some of the Nextel Cup series (formerly known as the Winston Cup) drivers, like Kevin Harvick and Dale Earnhardt Jr., for instance, own teams that compete in the Busch series races. Other drivers may compete in the Busch series race if they're at the same track (they're not always in the same town) if they wanna use it as extra practice or if they have a sponsor's commitment. BTW, congrats to Martin Truex Jr. for killing two birds with one stone: getting his first Nextel Cup series win and ending the Hendrick streak at the "Car of Tomorrow" races. I also hope NASCAR suspends Kurt Busch for the stunt he pulled the other day.
Queen Prawn
From what I have heard Kurt will be sitting out the Pocono race. So it goes from a 100 pt penalty to potentially 259 points if what I heard is true (there was some posting on one of the Burton boards I frequent). Goldmember
Tomorrow morning we shall finally know with whom Junior is racing with in '08. My guess and hope is that it'll be with Gibbs. I've seen reports today where Hendrick is still a possibility, Ginn is out & Childress is supposed to be out of the country 'til Thursday, so looks like they're out, too. SPEED will be covering the press conference tomorrow at 10 CT.

knightni
http://sports.yahoo.com/nascar/news;_ylt=A...t&type=lgns Looks like it. The Earnhardt fans will be so conflicted.
Goldmember
As an Earnhardt fan, I don't mind him driving for Hendrick if it nets him a championship. My dislike was never for Hendrick but for 3 of his drivers (Gordon, Johnson, Busch). My opinions of his new teammates won't change, it just means I'll see a bit more of them in relation to Earnhardt. Maybe now the idiot faction of our fanbase will stop throwing crap at Gordon's car. It's going to take some getting used to seeing Jr. in the 25. Good thing I put off getting that 8 tattoo...
