Queen Prawn
We were flying in from Long Beach, CA and our path took us near the Kansas storm that spit out the tornados. We went over one edge of the storm and while doing that I could see lightening from the top side of the clouds so I was watching lightening and stars at the same time. At one point I was able to see the lightening from the cloud side as well as hitting the ground. Oh, and being able to watch TV while flying home rocked (Jet blue has 36 channels of direct tv). Jimbo's Drinker
Try living in Kansas for 5 years, yikes. Luckily, Lawrence has many hills so no chance of a touchdown.

SoxFan1
Coolest thing on a plane was when I flew to Alaska last year and we were flying right next to the Northern Lights. It was amazing to look out the window and see green formations moving about.

kapkomet
When I worked for the airline I worked for, I rode in the cockpit on several flights. That gives you a whole different perspective on a jumbo-jet, let me tell you. You see things you wish you didn't see... .
