Rex Hudler
Hankins would be intriguing as a catcher because he isn't going to make it otherwise. Hankins did catch once or twice earlier this year. With Birmingham having three catchers this year, I don't think it was more than just an experiment. If I recall, each time it was only for a few innings, but I am not sure. Chisoxfn
Carlos Lee in the Rookie League, who I believe is actually Carlos Lee's brother, (why do they do that? ) has caught a little bit this season. I just do not want to waste high draft pick on a catcher, almost 99% of the time they do not pan out. Toughest position to draft for. I tend to agree with you. So many catchers get picked high and 99% of them fail. Catchers can look like the most talented guys in the world and they still fail. Of course the same is of position players and pitchers, but not quite as high of a rate. There is a lot of risk to drafting a catcher high. Thats why I would of liked taking Powell who fell and just paid the money and chanced it there.
