Like I said, the Big 10 had a LONG way to go. 6-5 in the dance, with as many Sweet 16 teams as fellow midwest leagues like the Horizon League and Valley. Wisconsin is, and always was, a total fraud, I just wish they hadn't made such a tough 10/7 to pick in UNLV vs. Ga. Tech. I figured the winner would beat Wisky, but couldn't figure out who would win, thus I had Wisconsin in the Sweet 16 (but no farther) to play the numbers.

Hiding because of how stupid all his Big 10 and Wisconsin trash talk looks right about now. He shouldn't hide though, people like me say dumber things than that and come back for more. :cheers

I run my mouth during the season, but say a peep during the tourney...KU always CHOKES anyways.

You guys are on the far inferior side of the bracket IMO, and I think your guards and wings would overwhelm Florida, so if you survive UCLA in Cali, I think you'll be in the same game you were in in 2003.

Actually our bigs beat up florida the first time around. If we get to the finals, which we wont...hide all white point guards and freshamn named Carmelo.

Wisconsin was hurt by the loss of Brian Butch. They were not a fraud.

And Kansas will win it all. FYI

Thats what I kept telling everyone, Butch is a big difference on Wisconsin playing or not. UNLV just was more prepared and aggressive than Wisconsin and it paid off.

Oregon and UNLV should be a good one, UNLV faces a similar team to Wisconsin in Oregon who has two players they mainly go to in Brooks and Taylor who just dont miss. Or they pound it low to the big man (name escapes me) and he puts it in. This game will be a buzzer beater.

Nah the difference is that for the last 2 weeks Wisconsin has felt that they dont need to show up for the first half and can just come out and turn it on at any moment.

As for where I have been...

Personal situation, you can ask Jimbo I havent been around other places that have nothing to do with NCAA basketball. I didnt even watch most of the game on Sunday, because in the end it was just a basketball game.

I also dont think that the Big 10 did anything to prove that they were not one of the top 3 conferences. Purdue, Indiana, and MSU all played well. Wisconsin played flat and lost, they didnt rotate well to the open shooter at the end of the game and a guy for UNLV hit a big shot.

Also Tucker went cold from the FT line, where he had been doing well.

All in all it sucks, but ah well such is life.

I dont understand how any big ten talk wasnt justified? They came in to the tourney as after thoughts and low seeds and pushed many of the better teams they faced to the limits. Ask Fla what they think of Purdue, UNLV was outplayed by Wisco in the 2nd half, Indiana gave UCLA all they could handle, even MSU gave UNC a bit of a headache. If it wasnt for Illinois choke job, all the teams would have made it past the first round of the tourney, that alone says alot about the talent in the conference. All the people talking s*** about the big ten should feel alot worse about it than someone who was saying how much trouble these teams were going to give obviously better teams.

Butch or not, UNLV is a flat out better team than Wisconsin.

Much better defensively sound, and thats what won them the game on Sunday.

Thats not what won them the game at all. A player who snuck in a loophole transfer before the rule was abolished hit 3 3-pointers late in the game to give it to UNLV. UNLV shot 50 percent from behind the 3 point line, leading the way was Kruger who hadnt hit a shot all tourney long. I would say that had much more to do with it than some phantom defense comment.

I can confirm that Badger was not around...we usually talk a few times a day. I happen to not agree with him on alot, but he is as smart and well rounded as a poster as they come. I was just trying to give him a hard time, as SIU fans will give me when they beat KU on Thurs.

KK is a great story and made some clutch shots in the 2nd half, but I would hardly give him all the credit for this win. Tucker was 4-11, Taylor was 6-16 with 3 turnovers. UNLV held onto a 12 point lead at halftime, despite Krueger missing his first several shots... and squandered that lead early 2nd half when they couldnt protect the ball and Kruger took some more erratic shots. They could/should have won by a lot more. Sure he hit a couple big 3's with 5-6 minutes left, which basically ended the mini-Wisconsin run, but he was 1-7 before that stretch and was a big reason why Wisconsin was able to cut into the lead so quickly. Terry with his huge 6 points late was much bigger of a dagger for Bucky from UNLV's offense. But their defense set the tempo of this game early on.

As far as the overrated Big Ten talk goes, I think most of the bashing they are getting on a national level is regarding their so-called elite teams. The Big Ten was always looked at as a solid conference this year, and I think the tourney teams showed that for the most part in the 1st round. The knock against the conference has always been that its not as "top-heavy" as it seemed to be this year, and I think that holds some merit. If Ohio State doesnt get a 3 pt prayer, theyre on the couch right now, getting ousted in tourney that many didnt believe belonged. Wisconsin was down 18-2 on A&M CC.

They dont belong in the tourney? I dont understand what you are trying to say there. If Duke doesnt get a miracle shot from Laettner they arent talked about as one of the best cbball dynasties of all time. Such is college hoops

I think he meant getting ousted by a team (xavier) in the tourney that didnt belong there, kind of referencing that it would be a sad way to end the year.

true. That being said, I do think the Buckeyes are a premier team this year, and the test aganist Xavier could be exactly what they needed to get thier juices flowing again. I certainly wouldnt mind, I have them winning it all with the best bracket I have left.

I would hope he isnt saying that Xavier shouldnt have been in the tourney.

U would hope I didnt mean Xavier moreso than the your first question with the Buckeyes?? :huh

I didnt, but plenty of the media and "experts" that are bashing the hell out of the Big Ten right now sure didnt think Xavier was too worthy when the brackets came out. Go ahead and ask Jay Bilas, Andy Katz, or Clark Kellogg (a big ten guy) what they think of the Muskateers. You originally asked where all the Big Ten bashing was coming from, and how it is justified....I guess it took me a couple posts to get across, but there you have it.
