WHarris1
QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Mar 18, 2007 -> 09:58 PM) Yeah, if. But why in the world would Chet Frazier? He's the only canidate since Brock I believe already used a non-eligibility year. Have you seen that commercial for ESPN News with the guy who talks out of his ass? Yeah... But I believe that Frazier's family is dealing with a serious illness (it's been mentioned in a couple of newspapers) and it wouldn't be out of the question for him to transfer to be closer to them. Also, I believe Frazier was named in Couch's Sun-Times column as a player who was with Jamar Smith the night of the accident. Since I don't know what happened that night, I won't guess about that. But it wouldn't be shocking for there to be more fall-out from that incident. Brock did red-shirt, and would be more of a surprise to transfer IMO. fathom
One of the main Illini sources with legit information said that someone will likely leave the program that will be a surprise. Yes, Frazier's dad has been diagnosed with cancer, and hopefully things go well. I know you don't like to believe a lot of these rumors B>W, so I guess we'll have to wait and see. Most of the rumors that have been speculated on a certain board seem to come true.

Is that what they said or did they say who it was? Any hinting at who it is, clues, or anything? Edited March 19, 2007 by WHarris1
fathom
QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Mar 19, 2007 -> 03:29 AM) Is that what they said or did they say who it was? They didn't state who it was, but from previous conversations, they mean it's not Jackson (who everyone thought it would be), Smith, or Carlwell. The source was vague with the rumor, but made it sound like people would be surprised. My view, as an outsider, is that it doesn't really matter who leaves. There's no one on that team that is irreplaceable. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Mar 19, 2007 -> 03:29 AM) Any hinting at who it is, clues, or anything? Frazier or Randle were the names most often brought up, but that is in no way confirmed.

As you said though, no one can leave this program that would really set it back in any way...pretty sad. It would seem pointless for Randle to transfer since he has already sat one year and only has one year of eligibility left.

I actually think that there's some members of the team that would be an addition by subtraction if they were to leave.

Some? Try half. QUOTE(fathom @ Mar 18, 2007 -> 10:27 PM) One of the main Illini sources with legit information said that someone will likely leave the program that will be a surprise. Most of the rumors that have been speculated on a certain board seem to come true. Based on this speculation, it's somebody of signifcance. It can't be Randle since he's a 5th year senior next year, CJ wouldn't matter, Meacham isn't it, it's definitely not Carlwell, Jamar would be no surprise, Pruitt or Clavin would only have 1 year eligibility left at their new place once they played, Semrau I have no idea why he would or how that matters. Only name that fits this at all is Chester, and even that wouldn't surprise me since he was playing doctor on that fateful night and is close with Jamar, who might be gone, as well as the fact that everything is going on with his dad and McCamey might be better than Chester is.
