I'm enjoying the latest disc from The Cure, "4:13 Dream".

The Cure's stuff doesn't vary much from disc to disc, but the melodies are catchy and I've always like Robert Smith's whiny voice.

Like I said in a previous post...the listen on that album is much better when you wear eyeliner.

Ha, I must be the only 23-year-old that doesn't like anything that came out in the 2000's.

I'm pretty much with you, except for hip hop, it's the only new stuff I can even listen to...

New Common comes out today. Getting some lousy reviews.

Not a horrible album, but it's not what people are used to out of Common. Hence, this is gonna get horrible reviews.

Yet, if Kanye does something out of the ordinary...people praise it.

Funny how that works....

Keep in mind that Kanye’s working with some really good producers. Jon Brion might just be a musical genius, and while it was an unorthodox choice it was a good one.

From what I've read it's a big step back lyrically.

I have it. Common said this was meant to be an album played and listened to when having a good time. So I knew off the bat I wouldn't get the Common I was exactly used to.

I'm still planning to pick it up but with low expectations.

The difference when Common and Kanye experiment is Kanye succeeds, whereas Common has made some truly awful s*** when he goes outside the box. The reason Be was so good was Kanye took him back to his roots with No ID and then Jdilla the next album.

I'm guessing you're not a fan of the Electric Circus album?
