Are you sure? That sounds like an awful lot of work.

I think that's how they did it. I've seen that technique in a few videos before, and I seem to remember seeing something about how it was done.

I don't think it's quite as much work as it sounds, but even if it is, some bands and/or directors will go through a lot to make a video that will stand out.

I love places like this http://www.cheathamstreet.com

Every town should have one. I only wish I wasn't so damn tired last night to catch the bands second act.

Keepin’ it ‘Tween the Lines

© 2004 Paul Eason & Taylor Davis I have been a lot of places

But no where else can compare

They ain’t got no Texas women

They ain’t got no Lone Star Beer

I’m as free as any man can be

But I ain’t goin’ nowhere

Just keepin’ it ‘tween the lines, in the land of barbecue and pecan pie

Give me rivers and dancehalls and open skies

From the Red to the Rio Grande, New Mexico to Louisian(a)

Just keepin’ it ‘tween the lines

Sittin’ on the Guadalupe

Summer breeze blowin’ in my hair

Think I’ll float on down to Gruene Hall

I know they got good music there

Ain’t no good times you can’t find

Livin’ in a Lone Star state of mind

Sleepin’ on the Rio Bravo

Campin’ under Marfa lights

Got some friends up in San Angelo

They won’t leave me lonely tonight

If you don’t think I’ll stay here all my life

You just count the days and nights

Hey Butlerboy, have you heard it yet???

Of course I haven't - Michael hasn't sent it to me yet.

I'm just going off of history. The wife LOVES Matchbox 20, but I'm just so-so on them. I have a couple of their songs on the Pod, but I wouldn't call myself a fan.

I just didn't expect you to like them at all.

spike jonze directed this video for the pharcyde over ten years ago using the old backwards technique. the guys had to learn how to lip-sync the song being played backwards.

That sux. The camera angles don't allow you to really see how well they're doing it.

This is Lynch's scene from Twin Peaks. Warning: strange and very creepy.

How wrong is it to admit that I REALLY like the new Matchbox 20 single???

Yes. Although I enjoy the latest Timberland creation "Ayo Technology" with 50 Cent and Justin Timberlake, so I'm not one to judge.

For you fans of The Hold Steady out there:

Tickets go on sale today (8/25) for The Hold Steady at Metro on Halloween night.

My email from Metro didn't list ticket prices.

Oh yeah baby. Plan to see them out here in Nov. in LA and SD.

Isn't Helmet gonna be at the Double Dooor sometime soon also?

Yep.

Sept. 1st, with Burning Brides and Bible Of The Devil. Damn good show, too bad I'll be around the corner at Subterranean that night.

18 bucks in advance, 20 at the door (either door, I'd guess.....okay, sorry....)

Figures. That's the only night I have any solid plans, so I can't make it.

I saw Burning Brides open for Local H a while back, decent band.

You really should check out The Effigies at SubT on August 31st.

In case you don't know who they are (I'm guessing you do, though), they're old-school Chicago punk from the days of Naked Raygun, Rights Of The Accused, Articles of Faith, Pegboy and so on.

They're very good, even if they are old, old men at this point.

:D
