LosMediasBlancas
So, this band is building a rep for being loud. They've had a couple of shows shut down due to city noise ordinances. Is anyone here into them? A Place To Bury Strangers http://www.myspace.com/aplacetoburystrangers

longshot7
QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Oct 21, 2007 -> 02:42 PM) This thread is losing steam lately. What's new and interesting?? best band I've heard this year is a local LA band: The Automatic Music Explosion. http://www.myspace.com/theautomaticmusicexplosion scroll down the page - the songs posted are new (the promo is good), but the videos are of the songs I like. "Cmon cmon" is a masterpiece. "16 years" is great too. They're first album was just recorded by the guy who discovered Blondie - comes out next year. Best live show I've seen for a local band. Cali
Upon first listen of the new Avenged Sevenfold, it's pretty good. It's not blowing me away but it's pretty solid. Best songs: "Critical Acclaim" "Afterlife" The solo at the end = \m/ "Lost" "Dear God" There's one song on the album, I cant decide if I love it or hate it haha. It's very theatrical, and kinda weird. It's not as good as City of Evil or Waking the Fallen (which is their masterpiece, so how can you top that?) Kid Gleason
Bad Brains, Stiff Little Fingers and 7 Seconds don't get bolded letters? I for one would be hoping that Raygun joins SLF for a rousing version of "Suspect Device"!

I for one would be hoping that Raygun joins SLF for a rousing version of "Suspect Device"! I never really was too into any of those bands, just a song or two here and there. In fact, I don't really know if I've ever heard a Bad Brains song. (That might belong in the "well, I never...." thread)
Rex Kickass
I'm all about covers today. Cold War Kids doing "Electioneering." Yum. Nostalgia 77 doing "Seven Nation Army" by the White Stripes. I actually had to look up the song and see if the White Stripes covered these guys, because it sounds like the song should have from the beginning. Cali
Song of the moment for me: "Feathers" Coheed and Cambria The rest of the new album is okay, nothing too crazy-good. I dont think they're gonna be able to top "In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth"

Cali
This weekend I'm finally gonna get a chance to see Glassjaw \m/ Unless of course the show gets cancelled, like so many of them have been in the past. Glassjaw is one of those bands I got into kind of late and was afraid I was never gonna get a chance to see them cause theyhad been on "hiatus" for such a long period of time...
