MHizzle85
QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 5, 2008 -> 04:36 PM) man I was just really disappointed with a lot of wayne's songs. I wish he would've released the first set of songs. The first stuff that leaked was good stuff, too bad it's been out for what seems like a long time now. If he would of put that stuff on the album it would of seemed kind of lazy. I do think he saved some of his best stuff for the actual album though. bmags
kanye's production was the only stuff I kept. As usual.

3E8
Check out Wale's 'Mixtape About Nothing'. Yes, a hip-hop mixtape inspired by Seinfeld. Sounds super-gimmicky, but I'm really digging it. Wale has nice flow. The opening track has "What's the deal with.." verses a la Jerry's act. The other tracks have clips and themes from the show Listen/Free Download

bmags
Wale has gotten a lot of publicity from pretty much every music magazine that I've read. Plus there is so much attention on Baltimore right now it's no wonder some DC artists can get in the action.

The Critic
Iron Maiden KILLED last night! It was the first time I'd seen them since 1984, and the band sounds as good now as they did then, maybe even better. Steve Harris is the best bassist I've ever seen, and Bruce Dickinson hit every high note, even the shriek at the beginning of Number Of The Beast, which I wasn't expecting him to hit anymore. It was an all-nostalgia setlist - nothing from any of their more recent CDs, which was fine by me, since I think their latest discs are a little lackluster. All in all, it was a great night of rock once Harris' daughter Lauren's band left the stage. They were f***ing horrible. Bland, awful "modern heavy rock" garbage. Their songs were forgettable before they even stopped playing. She and her band are boring trash.
shipps
A few good songs on the new Death Cab album but I think they keep it way to simple. This is a band that I have loved for some years now but I dont see myself listening to them 20 years from now. I'm probably giving up my Saturday pass to go to the Rock the Bells Festival, and Sunday i'm looking forward to Ghostface...a good amount of the bands i've never heard of, so i'm going to check most of them out for the first time. SnB
QUOTE (farmteam @ Jun 5, 2008 -> 06:42 PM) Yes. First half was decent, but by the end of the night I was listening to the Blue Album. agreed the first 4 or 5 songs are great, absolutely great, but the last half of the album blows
BurlyMan56
QUOTE (SnB @ Jun 26, 2008 -> 02:26 AM) I'm finally getting to go see my favorite band, the counting crows, in concert this august. pumped I seen them and the Goo Goo Dolls two summers ago at Tweeter Center. I wasn't all that impressed with Counting Crows then even though I was a big fan. Then, I thought he was drunk and forgot the lyrics or something but found out he throws in different lyrics or ad-libs throughout the concert. That night, Goo Goo Dolls really performed. Not too big of a fan of the Crows' newest cd anyway. I'll be seeing Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers and Steve Winwood at SummerFest July 5th, gonna be a real good show. Also, really recommend the new cd by The Kooks. Awesome band, good followup cd.
farmteam
QUOTE (SnB @ Jun 25, 2008 -> 09:28 PM) agreed the first 4 or 5 songs are great, absolutely great, but the last half of the album blows I'd say 4, not 5. Heart Songs (track 4) is probably my favorite on the album, but Everybody Get Dangerous (track 5) is just repetitive and not that catchy anyway.
