StrangeSox
My girl and I were just looking at taking a trip in May to the Caribbean. We've been looking around at the usual travel websites (travelocity, priceline, etc) and have also been checking out the all-inclusive places like SuperClubs. LosMediasBlancas
Go to Playa Del Carmen, which is about 40 mins. from Cancun. Look up a chain of 'Palace' resorts, I know they're in Cancun and probably in Playa.

SoxFan562004
QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Mar 27, 2007 -> 12:20 PM) Go to Playa Del Carmen, which is about 40 mins. from Cancun. Look up a chain of 'Palace' resorts, I know they're in Cancun and probably in Playa. I went to the "Moon Palace" resort, probably about 15 minutes outside Cancun. It was very nice. Balta1701
Be certain you both have passports taken care of. The wait right now is well over 2 months unless you spend extra to get it quickly or call your Congressman, and if you're flying, it's now required for re-entry intot he states. Controlled Chaos
QUOTE(Jimbo @ Mar 27, 2007 -> 12:53 PM) wow palaces looks very nice. Went to Aventura palace. It was pretty nice and it's adults only. The cool thing about the palace resorts is you get to go to all of them if you stay at one. Aventura doesn't really have a beach. It has a Lagoon you can snorkle in. We went to the beach at Xpu-Ha and it was beautiful with crystal clear water. Wherever you go check trip advisor for some reviews of places

NorthSideSox72
Ditto on Trip Advisor, that's a great site. If you want something a little more exotic, St. Lucia is awesome. Longer trip than Cancun, though. There are three Sandals resorts on St. Lucia, which are fairly nice (but the food isn't anything great), great beaches and pools, all the important stuff. But to get a more local experience, try a place like Anse Chastinet (sp?), or the Jaloise Hilton. Also, if you go to a Caribbean island, try to get out of the resort when you can. Take a tour or two, its worth it.
