Position: RHP Height: 6'2 Weight: 190 Bats: Right Throws: Right DOB: 2/6/1986 Resides: Kula, HI Acquired: 22nd Rd '06 FYP Bio: Minor League Highlights: 2006: Combined to go 1-2 with a 1.52 ERA (5 ER/29.2 IP) and three saves at Advanced Rookie Bristol and Class A Kannapolis … was 1-2 with a 0.76 ERA (2 ER/23.2 IP) and three saves in 19 relief appearances with Bristol … recorded his first professional save on 6/26 at Burlington … did not allow a run in 11 straight outings from 7/8-8/10 (15.0 IP) … promoted to Kannapolis on 8/23 and went 0-0 with a 4.50 ERA (3 ER/6.0 IP) in four outings. scenario Posted June 19, 2008 Share Posted June 19, 2008 Kanekoa Texiera Added to the Carolina League All-Star Team 6/18/2008 http://www.warthogs.com/content/press_box/index.htm WINSTON-SALEM, NC – It took a dramatic pause, but Kanekoa Texeira is going to Myrtle Beach, S.C. as part of the Carolina League All-Star team. Texeira, who resides in Maui, Hawaii, will be spending the All-Star break on different sands when the Carolina and California Leagues square off at BB&T Coastal Field on June 23-25. Texeira, who was drafted by the Chicago White Sox in the 22nd round of the 2006 draft, was the anchor of the Winston-Salem bullpen in the first half of the season, going 2-0 with a 1.44 ERA and 12 saves in 23 relief appearances. Opponents have hit just .216 against the burly right-hander. He joins Warthogs first baseman Brandon Allen as Winston-Salem representatives for the 2008 Carolina League All-Star team. Texeira, Allen and all the Carolina League’s best will face off versus the California League All-Stars in Myrtle Beach, S.C. on Tuesday, June 24 at 7:30 p.m., gates open at 5 p.m. For tickets, call 843-918-6000.
