CWSGuy406
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ May 11, 2007 -> 03:59 PM) When you consider that if the White Sox hold on to Mr. Dye, and he departs as a FA, the White Sox will still receive 2 compensatory top-of-the-draft picks, and if Mr. Dye goes to Toronto those picks would go to the Jays, I think that's a little much to give up for Mr. Rios. But we're on track with a decent line of thought there, and it could well just be a matter of changing a player or two. Well, with so many comp picks being handed out, it's likely not going to be a top-of-the-draft pick. Flash said there's something like 36 comp picks in this year's draft. Don't get me wrong, you'd still be getting pretty good picks, but man -- I'd love to get Rios. Great defensive player who looks like he's going to have to settle into a .850-.925 OPS guy. Maybe not a star, but still a very, very good player. Edited May 11, 2007 by CWSGuy406
fathom
Chris Burke was sent down by the Astros. It would be a great time for KW to buy low. Also, it might give us our 2nd baseman for next year.

He should be getting worried, cause Sweeney makes you look like a beyotch. Ouch -- I sort of feel bad for Scott: With Podsednik's wife being out of town, he said that free time coming when the White Sox are on the road has been spent watching the team on television and dining alone. His goal remains to stay mentally strong while trying to get back into prime playing condition. Scotty's not getting any play at work or at home with Lisa out of town. That's rough... BearSox
She better come back, and soon. We don't want that groin healing all up because Pods isn't getting any. We need him to strain that groin some more, so Ozzie and KW don't get tempted to take away Sweeney.

RME JICO
I didn't realize this, but Danks is basically pitching equal to Dice-K minus $100 million: Danks 4.33 ERA, 1.30 WHIP, 2.55 K/BB, 7.13 K/9 Dice-K 4.80 ERA, 1.29 WHIP, 2.61 K/BB, 9.40 K/

Gregory Pratt
Matsuzaka's struck out far more guys. But Danks' ERA should be lower. I'd take Danks, though. I think Daisuke will bust.

I think Daisuke will bust.I don't think he will be a complete bust, especially in Boston where their offense will give him some extra wins. He will probably end up being a #4 or #5 starter. Dice-K has very similar number to Nomo who always struck out a ton of batters. For the money though, Danks is a bargain.
RME JICO
QUOTE(Rowand44 @ May 13, 2007 -> 08:04 AM) Danks has literally been fantastic so far, I can't even explain how happy I am with him. He has exceeded all my expectations thus far. I remember watching him in ST during the Danks/Floyd battle and he would be attacking the strike zone and getting ahead of hitters. I was totally impressed, and he is still doing that every time out. Also, I think he picked up his tempo from MB because he was pitching a lot quicker his last start, which just adds another intangible to his skill set.
