On a side note to what somebody said before, SURE I'd take Blackjack and Deejay in the booth all the time. DJ is like a free man when Hawk's not in the booth with him.

I like this combo. BJ and DJ! And BJ tends to give a lot of really cool insights.

Sigh. We can wish, can't we?

1) Anderson can't bunt to save his life

2) Every ball he pulls will end up in a double play on the infield...he can't instinctively go to the opposite field to advance a runner

3) Too many swings without contact...hit and run would be a disaster

4) Too impatient

5) Can't hit a breaking ball

6) He can't adjust his swing to hit sac flies

HOF/Gold Glove/All-Time Top 50 MLB defensive team for Anderson

So it's unreasonable to think he can hit .260/.270 while hitting for more power than those guys would?

Based on his current approach and past results, yes.

In the 2nd part of last year, Anderson did a pretty decent job of dealing with #2, #3, and #4 on that list. Like I said, he needs to cut down on the swings and misses before he becomes good at that role, but I think he'll get there.

You have just described our 3-4-5 hitters right now.

Just one example of why BA should be in there every day.

What about the examples of why he shouldn't be in there every day? Like everything being said in the thread prior to his nice catch. So quick to forget? :P

Based on his rookie year when he wasn't handled correctly? You can't just look at a guys rookie year, look what Alex Gordon is doing right now.

I just think based on how he looks now and last year, that it's a pretty big assumption that he'll hit 270. I could be wrong, but that's just what my eyes tell me.
