caulfield12
QUOTE(RME JICO @ Apr 12, 2007 -> 09:15 AM) Fri, Apr 13, 7:05 pm EDT - (J. Vázquez vs. F. Carmona) Sat, Apr 14, 7:05 pm EDT - (J. Danks vs. P. Byrd) Sun, Apr 15, 1:05 pm EDT - (J. Contreras vs. C. Sabathia) We definitely don't want to go into the Sunday game needing a win to avoid a sweep. Not too worried, the match-ups look even or favorable, and you never know, Contreras might get on a roll again now. The weather forecast looks bleak for this weekend, I can't believe they're not keeping the Indians in MIL, unless they're so concerned it would give the White Sox too much of a home field advantage. caulfield12
QUOTE(bmags @ Apr 12, 2007 -> 10:02 AM) oh boy, danks is gonna have trouble gettin a W again vs. paul byrd. not sure if you're being sarcastic or not... Byrd was the only pitcher to beat us in postseason 2005, but he's also far from unhittable
Heads22
Whoo, get to see Danksy again.
joeynach
Do we have an advantage every time Danks pitches against a team for the first time since they have never seen him before. At least the first time through the order.
Pants Rowland
QUOTE(joeynach @ Apr 12, 2007 -> 11:03 AM) Do we have an advantage every time Danks pitches against a team for the first time since they have never seen him before. At least the first time through the order. Only if he gets to face the White Sox. Then he would be lights out.

Kalapse
QUOTE(GoSox05 @ Apr 12, 2007 -> 11:32 AM) How is Carmona? Real bad. Especially against the Sox.
watchtower41
QUOTE(GoSox05 @ Apr 12, 2007 -> 11:32 AM) How is Carmona? a project in the making.... I believe his closer role lasted all of 2 games last year. He can show flashes, however, most of them were in spring training last year. GreatScott82
I like our chances vs Carmona and Byrd.. Sabathia is just that damn good. I predict the Sox will win 2 of 3 as our quest to win every series continues from here on out!!
witesoxfan
QUOTE(ChWRoCk2 @ Apr 12, 2007 -> 05:26 PM) Danks vs Byrd could be interesting. We cant hit Byrd and Indians havent seen Danks so that should be fun. The Sox f***ed Byrd up last year. ERA of 6.94, WHIP of 1.63. Something like that. bjm676
Why do we always seem to end up facing CC every d*mn series. I guess we're bound to beat him sooner or later.
Flash Tizzle
QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Apr 12, 2007 -> 05:44 PM) Why do we always seem to end up facing CC every d*mn series. I guess we're bound to beat him sooner or later. I was content with the offense's opening day approach to Sabathia. However, if the offense reverts to past seasons and Sabathia limits the offense to no runs and a hand full of hits, Cleveland should do everything within their power to match him up with our team every series. Hell, even if they knock him around I'd be more willing to believe it was a fluke occurrence then our hitters adjusting their gameplan accordingly. Gregory Pratt
I hope Sunday's game has a big rain delay and they have to take Sabathia out. If they have to take Contreras out, too, so be it. Our bullpen's far better.
whitesoxfan101
I like the pitching matchups in this series for us. C.C. is tough, but nowhere near Santana tough or not even as tough as Harden IMO. We can win that if Jose is on his game again, and I really like our chances in the first 2 games. This isn't little league. If our guys play soft and look miserable but sweep the tribe, I'll be happy. If they play hard and smile, only to get swept, I will need to destroy life to satiate my anger.
