ChiSox_Sonix
for B'Ham it says Wing started, went 3 and left. is there a reason? are they still building up the stamina with him or something? he did not allow a run with only 1 hit (4K) so its confusing
danman31
Honel didn't pitch but Wing did and pitched well for 3 innings. Collaro also went yard. Sonix- I would imagine they are just stretching him out. That was his first start and only second appearance of the year. In his last outing he went 3 innings and didn't allow a baserunner. They probably have him on a pitch count. It probably was higher this time because he allowed 3 baserunners in his 3 innings this time. BearSox
Dony Lucy is a beast, and Valido finally started to hit today. Wonder why Honel didn't pitch... injury again!? Cunningham and that Schurnenstin guy are both tearing it up. Lujan with a scoreless inning. Lol, Kinston has a player with the name Constanza! Knights won it in extras... Fields got two critical rbi's it seems like though to help win it. Jerry Owens going 1 for 3, but he had 4 WALKS! and 3 runs scored. That is great. Why isn't Terrero playing? Instead they have been playing that bum Kelly.
Heads22
Day is downright silly. This is why hes on the 40 man.
BearSox
release one of those bums at AAA and promote Day! He is going to be a stud set up man if he keeps this up.
beautox
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 14, 2007 -> 11:23 PM) Why is Day not at AAA? Just not enough space. 16 K's in 5.2 IP? Get him up. why is he not being converted to starting; i know hes older but he has a fresh live arm.

Am I to believe of the 17 outs recorded by Day only 1 hasn't been via the strikeout? This guy must have a slider comparable to Brad Lidge. And a fastball fairly close. I love how you just threw in that little fact... Too bad it took Day so long to finally harness some his potential, but good for us, because we got him. We might have something with Day. He's been a good find from our scouts nonetheless. Still needs to work on his fastball though from I hear. Ever since the AFL last year, he's been very consistant with the fastball and has been relying on the slider less. I've heard his slider is graded between 60-70 on the scouting scale, and his fastball just needs to find the zone to accompany it.
maggsmaggs
Dewon Day's K/9 = 25 ish. Yeah thats kinda sick. I said he would be in the Sox pen b4 August and I see nothing minus his control that will stop him. Massett could honestly use some time in AAA as his control has been less than steller. Whitewashed in '05
Those are some incredible stats by Day. You can never have too much pitching. Hopefully he keeps it up.

What I meant was that in no way is the fastball comparable to his slider, but yes it is getting better, but it's something that he still IMHO needs to keep improving to help him make it to the majors.
