YASNY
I'd actually like to move Danny to the bullpen. He is a hell of a starter when he has good control of his pitches....and I'll go out on a limb here and say that when he has good control of his pitches, he is one of the better starters in the league, or at the very least, a good starter. However, he rarely does. And you can't always tell whether or not he had good control of his pitches by how many walks he issued. That is not necessarily what I am concerned with. I'm more concerned about where he leaves his pitches. When he is wild down, he'll walk a lot of guys. When he is wild up....well, look at what the Angels did to him last year. I said in another thread that addition by subtraction would be a good idea. As soon as we trade/release one of Koch/White-flag/Glover, we move Danny to the pen and use him as a setup man and eventually turn him into a closer. His stuff is too good to be wasted. Yeah I've said all along that Dan Wright could be turned into a rock-solid closer someday. He might even pull an Eric Gagne. I totally agree with your addition by subtraction idea but this team is too dumb to do that. If only we would unload the dumbasses like DLo, Lee, Koch, and build from the ground up, think how good of a team we could be in a few years. I almost wish that we are in the state of the Indians right now. They have so many talented young players and are building from the ground up. They're in the state that they could actually afford to try someone like Wright as their closer. Screw that! ... I'm tired of the perpetual rebuilding that the Sox are always doing. We've got some solid ballplayers and pitchers. We don't need to "build from the ground up", we need to retool a little bit. But we have to have someone that knows what moves to make. Someone besides KW.
Pastime
Kenny overvalues every damn minor leaguer we have - and how many of them have contributed the last 3 years, or will every contribute to this team? That's what I thought. I'm still waiting on all those "can't miss prospects," Kenny. Overrate THIS, dunce.

If we want a winning ball club, we HAVE to build from the ground up. I mean, are you watching these games??! We have lazy-ass dumbasses that dont give s*** about the game and have NO fundamentals whatsoever. If we want to go deep in the playoffs, we need guys with great defense who can play smallball and a solid bullpen. With the dumbasses we have on the team right now (DLo, Lee, Koch, Konerko, WhiteFlag), we are NEVER gonna even win a pennant.
