Thome flies out, 2 outs.

PK strikes out swinging. Absolutely baffled by the pitch.

The best hope for this game is to keep it within 2-3 runs and try to get to their bullpen in the 7-9th innings.

Those quick innings aren't going to get Verlander out sooner, though.

53 pitches for Verlander through 3.

Wow....thankfully PK has two big hits this series, cause this is as bad as he's looked in a long time. Give him a day off tomorrow or Tuesday.

PK could definitely use a day off.

Toby can back him up at 1st...oops

And this way Anderson can play in CF, and we won't be missing the grinder effect with him at 1B.

Erstad will be glad to grind away over there.

EDIT: How the heck does Infante have 15 career hits against Garland? He's not even an everyday player....

Something I just looked up. Sox are dead last in doubles with 16, and the Twins lead with 46.

Wow, that's amazing. Shockingly we had two in a row to win the game yesterday also. Doubles is a good example of a team hitting the ball hard, which we have definitely not done so far this year.

I'm not shocked at all. Thome has taken a ton of walks and PK can't hit. That cuts the doubles down a lot.

Erstad can't have more than 2 extra base hits this year.

Holy cow....that was pathetic.

At least Crede saw a few pitches. Verlander's at 65 now. One good inning and we can knock him out during the 6th or just make sure he doesn't get into the 7th.

Uribe will work him next inning, I'm sure.

The Twins also have 162 hits and the Sox only have 114 (which is also dead last).
