kevo880
Gio is one of my fav prospects. The way he's pitching right now I really see him challenging for Buehrle's spot in the rotation next year. I'm real excited with all the pitching we have in the minors that are actually legit prospects. Has Gio only been pitching only like 6 innings every game because his pitch count is so high or what's the deal with that?
3E8
QUOTE(kevo880 @ Apr 22, 2007 -> 10:16 PM) Has Gio only been pitching only like 6 innings every game because his pitch count is so high or what's the deal with that? Almost half of Gio's outs have been recorded via the strikeout. Strikeout pitchers tend to get their pitch counts up earlier in the game as opposed to pitchers who throw to contact. Only because you know a strikeout will require at least three pitches but average close to five. It's different than say Buehrle who will have batters putting the ball into play early in counts and letting the defense work for him.
