Well, in fairness it doesnt say she was there promoting it, but the fact that she was there is not good. That's nothing. Of course she was in on some discussions, she has said as much. QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ Mar 19, 2008 -> 03:37 PM) New York Times - No Evidence in HRC Paper's to back her experience claims That, on the other hand, could be a bit damaging. The problem is that she has said that behind the scenes she was not really for it. Yet she Opens and Closes the meeting? This from a guy on Digg... "I doubt she was showing up to do the introduction for the meeting so she could tell the 120 attendees there not to support her husbands proposition." Those type of statements have been out there for some time, it seems like it might be about due for her to get some focus on that issue. And it seems like it's the cycle's time to find something to go after her for anyway. The whole Northern Ireland thing seemed like it would have been a good jumping off point but it never seemed to get traction for some reason last time around. Probably because she wasn't winning. HuskyCaucasian
Hillary Clinton's daily schedules show that her formal policy role in the presidency of her husband, Bill Clinton, shrunk once Congress shelved the health- care plan she helped craft in the administration's first two years. HuskyCaucasian
ABC News Political Blog Two attendees of that closed-door briefing, neither of whom are affiliated with any campaign, describe that event for ABC News. It was a room full of women involved in international trade. David Gergen served as a sort of master of ceremonies as various women members of the Cabinet talked up NAFTA, which had yet to pass Congress. "It wasn’t a drop-by it was organized around her participation," said one attendee. "Her remarks were totally pro-NAFTA and what a good thing it would be for the economy. There was no equivocation for her support for NAFTA at the time. Folks were pleased that she came by. If this is a still a question about what Hillary's position when she was First Lady, she was totally supportive if NAFTA. UH OH!!!

HuskyCaucasian
It just keep coming... http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/archive/200.../19/785983.aspx Dec. 22, 2000 also remains a bit of a mystery. That's the day when Mrs. Clinton and the President met in the White House with a New York rabbi who successfully lobbied President Clinton to commute the sentences of four Hassidic men who had been convicted of massive fraud and conspiracy. The commutations were extremely controversial at the time, and photos of the meeting exist. And yet, there's no mention of it in Mrs. Clinton's daily log. The calendar simply lists four separate "private meetings" in the Map Room that day, with no names attached.

HuskyCaucasian
And more... Hillary's "snipe fire" claim not so real? Here’s how Clinton began her speech: ...I remember landing under sniper fire. There was supposed to be some kind of a greeting ceremony at the airport, but instead we just ran with our heads down to get into the vehicles to get to our base. A Nexis search found hundreds of stories on the election-year trip, but no mention of any hostile fire or snipers... a report by Sharyl Atkisson for the March 25 CBS This Morning showed Mrs. Clinton arriving at the main air base at Tuzla not running with her head down, but smiling and walking alongside daughter Chelsea. HuskyCaucasian
Jake Tapper of ABC calls out Hillary CLinton on her most recent "Fact vs Myth" e-mail to supporters. http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch/20...ry-clint-1.html The Clinton campaign sent out talking points for supporters today, which included this odd little "myth" versus "fact." "Myth: Contrary to her stated opposition to NAFTA, Hillary Clinton attended NAFTA meetings to work for its passage. "Fact: It is no secret that passing NAFTA was a priority of the Clinton Administration, but numerous contemporary accounts make clear that Hillary Clinton was personally opposed to NAFTA, and her position on NAFTA was and remains consistent." OK, first of all, that "Myth" is not a "Myth" -- it's a fact. Clinton attended NAFTA meetings to work for its passage. True statement. Period. End of story.
