What do you think it could mean?

Honestly, no clue.

3 Possibilities:

1) He told Obama on the phone he is already decided on Hillary

2) Told Obama on the phone he doesnt need to meet with him Obama is his man.

3) Obama thinks he doesn't need an Edwards endorsement anymore. THe "window" has passed and Obama has momentum.

And if he thinks #3, then we need to start thinking about shifting the dunce cap from the person currently in office.

I don't know if there could be a president ticket that I would dispise more than that duo.

If someone could get that ticket elected, scholars would be writing books about them for a long time.

Hillary wont pick Edwards for VP. She wants a Clintonite. Probably a "yes man"

If it could get her elected, she'd grab him in a second. The Constitution keeps the VP in line, I've read a number of references to where the President and Vice President do not meet for months.

I dunno about that. All of the reports I've read about the 2004 race have said that the Kerry campaign was particularly unhappy with the way Edwards performed as a VP candidate, not to mention the fact that he seemingly didn't even make a single state competitive for them.

*IF* he could get her elected.

Here's the question. Would she promise Edwards the VP slot to beat Obama in the primary if she thought it would kill her in the general?

I doubt that's what's going on here, but as there's no way of predicting the unforseeable (and the Clintons know that), they'd risk it.

Obama is leading Clinton by almost 20% points in Virgina polls? She isn't even coming close in these recent primaries. Anyone know what the Texas numbers look like?

Why is Chelsea Clinton giving all these speeches? really, do any of you Dems care what she thinks?

No. In fact she is on MSNBC right now and is a REALLY boring speaker. I dont think she WANTS to be out doing this. But she HAS to. "pimping" was the wrong term, but the right idea.

It could just be that Obama wants a big win in VA and won't get out of the Chesapeake area to meet with Edwards til Weds at the earliest, btw.

what gets my attention is this line: "the Obama campaign told us to talk to the Edwards camp"

If it was Obama canceling, wouldn't they come out and say "hey, we're busy campaigning, we will meet up with him in a few days"?

Tough call. You have to get past B to get to C. And perhaps Edwards is selling her on his experience and how he knows the mistakes that were made and will do better this time.

Posting those results doesn't do much unless you tell me the date of the Poll. January 30th-31st. Hence, pre Super Tuesday, and pre-the last few days before Super Tuesday where BO had those big gains.

OOPS! Didnt notice the date. My mistake.

RE: Edwards/Obama meeting

ABC.com's Political Radar blog says it was postponed because both candidates wanted the meeting to remain secret, and didn't like all the press attention it was getting. They say it will be rescheduled. Or, it could still happen today or tomorrow, but now without the media camping out on Edwards' doorstep waiting for Obama to arrive.

After eight years of a Clinton in the White House, plus watching their operations in this election cycle leave me zero doubt that there are endless things that the Clinton Machine would do to get elected. We all know the litany of rules the Clinton's broke while in office, and nothing seems to have changed with Hillary at the helm.

I think we have all learned that endorsements are largely worthless.

I'm not sure I've seen a case this term where a newspaper endorsement has made a difference, but i.e. Kennedy, we've seen some major polling moves in certain states created by local endorsements. It seems to vary with the state and with the person.
