Capn12
Well this will make it easier to go take a nap, at this rate. Guess Danks was tired of getting screwed over by the offense, hes gonna make sure this one is a no doubter!
Balta1701
QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 05:36 PM) It's going to be interesting how teams react against Danks the second time they face him during the year. Maybe interesting is not the correct word there.
maggsmaggs
The Tiger hitters are pretty much sitting dead red on fastballs and lighting him up. This might be one of those games where you let Danks embarress himself for the sake of the bullpen.
Scwible
maybe it's a plus i don't get this game tonight. I'd prolly puke with another start like this.
chisox72
QUOTE(knightni @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 07:36 PM) Turn in your man-card, sir! Actually, the TV is on it here already... You don't need to go to it. It will be of the wife's doing , not mine!
WHarris1
Normally 3 runs isn't too bad, but with this lineup? Might as well be 9-

fathom
I'll be stunned if Danks lasts the entire year with an ERA under 5.75 at home. His command has a long way to go still, which is no shock due to his youth. Edited April 26, 2007 by fathom

chisox72
QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 07:36 PM) Please let it rain again. Great call by AJ of calling for a fastball down the plate with an open base on 3-0. That's the right idea for tonight...let it open up and postpone this disaster.... maggsmaggs
Where is Danks' fastball that was supposed to be topping out at 94? If you throw a straight fastball and it doesn't get above 90 MPH, you are gonna get rocked. Example, John Danks. He's gotta get his changeup and breaking ball over the plate for strikes. BTW, the pitch was a cookie and Thames just whiffed.

Danks is going to have to have good control in order to last in the majors this year, and he doesn't seem to have that right now.
maggsmaggs
No doubt in my mind, KW is gonna trade for a starter assuming we are still in the race. None of our pitchers our major league ready yet, Danks needed more AAA time, Gio is a year away at least, same with Russell. Broadway wont ever make a start for the Sox. fathom
Don Cooper has got to change up our starter's preparation, as this first inning stuff is very troubling.

At least Massett's fastball has life on it, so he can survive at 94 or 95. But Danks' fastball is just plain straight.

Freddy Garcia won't pitch another game in the majors though, so it's fine we didn't get anyone that can contribute in 2007.
StrangeSox
Remember when the Sox used to jump up to early leads? That was much better than this crap. This lineup is really going to struggle to score 4 runs.
