Queen Prawn
I can't understand the lack of trying to improve the automatic out positions. I also don't understand Konerko's fire and ice routine he's been playing this year (and more ice than fire too).
Jimbo's Drinker
QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 2, 2007 -> 04:53 PM) Farmer just said what a great job Greg does with the hitters. That the hits aren't falling. Well Mr. no Socks. When you hit a 900 foot flyball. You can get under it, well unless you are Juan Uribe. Farmer is an idiot and is juste excited to go drink. BigSqwert
QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ May 2, 2007 -> 04:54 PM) I can't understand the lack of trying to improve the automatic out positions. You mean the entire lineup?
southsideirish71
QUOTE(fathom @ May 2, 2007 -> 04:54 PM) Look at our lineup....even a good hitting coach couldn't get this offense to be average. Konerko, Gooch, AJ, Dye, Crede, Uribe are all major leaguers. They should all be capable of hitting Bautista. Even with the Sweeneys and Macks in the lineup. We should be able to get more than 2 solo homers.
T R U
Carl from Texas.. Greg, I dont think you deserve a raise and quite frankly sir you make me sick. Anyways, I was wondering if you had any pull at Soxtalk. Is it possible to have Heads banned and promote Kalapse to ultimate administrator? Thanks for your time. And that something is firing the hitting coach.
joeynach
Im getting really sick of seeing us either swing at the first pitch, or on 3-0, 3-1, 2-0, and 2-1 counts based on the situation not being that important. Meaning i see us swing at those counts oer on the 1st pitch either when we already have the lead or are down by a lot, as if it doesnt matter. But when the game is close, tied, etc I see us execute as the team we are; more patient, more fundamentals not swinging at the first pitch. We are never going to build or maintain a lead long enough to win against any team like this. Its really sickening.
Flash Tizzle
QUOTE(fathom @ May 2, 2007 -> 04:54 PM) Look at our lineup....even a good hitting coach couldn't get this offense to be average. Someone has to be blamed for our league worst offense, and it's between Williams and Walker. Who do you think stands a larger chance of losing their job? It may not be fair, but it's what has to be done. Change is necessary.

fathom
QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ May 2, 2007 -> 09:59 PM) Someone has to be blamed for our league worst offense, and it's between Williams and Walker. Who do you think stands a larger chance of losing their job? It may not be fair, but it's what has to be done. Change is necessary. First will come Walker. I'm still confident in my prediction from that offseason that KW or Ozzie will be gone after this year. Quite frankly, if we're going to be dealing veteran players for youngsters, I have no problem if KW isn't doing those trades. Those trades aren't his specialty. SoxFan562004
I think something has to be shaken up, and at this point Walker is the likely candidate. For onfield, PK and Dye are to blame. They need to step up and have completely failed (and no, I don't consider 2 solo home runs good enough at this point)

They try to shoot it up the middle and to right. They break down their swing, and try basics. Clean front to back, line drive swing. Then once and only once you get success there, you expand it and start to drive on the longer swing. But then again, if Konerko doesnt remember if he was feeling happy or sad on the day he watched his video, or if he is upset he wont hit according to Dr Walker and his Nurse Mike. Balance
At least I didn't have to sit through this crap and watch it. It's like the Sox offense is made up of a bunch of little leaguers right now.
StrangeSox
This team has scored 2 runs or less in 10 games and is averaging only 4 runs per game.

Dick Allen
So let me get this straight, people actually believe Greg Walker tells guys to go up to the plate and swing as hard as they can just in case they hit it. He also tells them not to work a count. Swing at as many pitches as they can, regardless of their location. I really don't know what to think of Walker as a hitting coach, but I find it hard to believe he's the reason the team can't hit right now. Balance
How can all the Sox hitters suck so bad, so far beneath what we all know they're capable of, all at once? It's like they're being zapped with some kind of alien suck-ray.
