Been watching boxing on ESPN Classic all day to get ready for this. I sure as f*** hope it lives up to the hype. What a great day of sports...Sox/Angels, Bulls/Pistons, Rockets/Jazz, Mayweather/De la Hoya.

Where did you find to watch it+ Ive been watching the Mayweather fights too. I dont know if you have on demand but HBO on demand has a ton of old fight for both guys.

There was a time when my family and I never missed a PPV prizefight. It seemed like once a month there was an opportunity to all gather around the now-infamous Chicago cable "blackbox" and watch a PPV boxing match for free.

OT, but did any Chicagoan pre-2000 ever pay for a PPV? It must have looked mighty funny to the promoters looking at Chicago and it's 0% buyrate.

Yeah, I figured. But I'm guessing their becoming less and less common with the mass movement towards Digital Cable, where I doubt they have such a device.

Well I think Comcast is having it so you can't even watch basic cable without a digital box. It's basically impossible to use one for Comcast which dominates the Chicago market. Only option is either FTA satellite(which constantly is blacked out for sometimes weeks) and WOW.

It's very possible but they must get zapped or somehow discovered and blocked.

Mine lasted about 5 months the first time but then only 3 weeks the second time.

Didn't hear about this sopcast until after it started but it was good to see the last couple of rounds online. Good stuff.

Too bad De La Hoya ran out of gas. I'm still mad about that first trinidad fight though. He had it won until he coasted the last few rounds. He could have been so great if he had focused completely on boxing.

I'm no boxing match, but I think De La Hoya won in a very close fight. At the very least, it wasn't completly lopsided like the commentators made it out to be.

I duno, I completely disagree. De La Hoya threw and threw but kept missing. The crowd was horrible and went nuts at every single whiff by DLH. Oscar only had flurries against the ropes, the problems were he didn't land a lot of those punches. Outside of that, he looked really bad, especially walking right into some of PBF punches. It's sad to see such a great career come to an end, but that can't be DLH's best shape. He looked like absolute crap in the last three rounds.

I enjoyed the fight a lot. I couldn't believe the 1st judge gave it to De la Hoya 115-113. Mayweather pretty much dominated the fight. Oscar threw a lot of punches but had numerous rounds with less than 10 punches connected. Pretty Boy Floyd picked his shots well and got Oscar with the hook a few times. De la Hoya really only got 2 good punches in.

The commentators were spot on though. When De la Hoya was using the left jab, he had Mayweather leaning back a lot and backpedaling. He went away from it and Floyd took over from there. Would have liked to see De la Hoya get knocked out, but I enjoyed the match no doubt.

I got so f***ing pissed/nervous when the first judge gave it to De la Hoya. What a bunch of s***.

Yeah, I thought it was over from then. You never know, judges could be swayed by the crowd a lot. Would have been a travesty if they gave it to De la Hoya.

Oh, and Mayweather's entrance was one of the best in a while.

The crowd undoubtedly affected things. They would stand up and roar as De la Hoya landed 1 of 13 punches, retarded.

I think what stood out to me most was when De la Hoya had Mayweather against the ropes in one of the 1st couple rounds and he tagged him with about 9 straight body shots. Mayweather was smiling the entire time. Crowd went nuts.

Mayweather's smiles were classic. He was just thinking, "Oscar, is that supposed to hurt?"

I know the jabs in the face hurt him because his head was rocking back, that's why at one point in the fight, he stopped smiling and started to get serious like he was going to whoop DLH's ass in the back of a parking lot.

I can't believe how many people liked PBF's entrance. That's a slap in the face. It's like me taking a piss on the American flag on the 4th of July. It's like taking a crap on a map of Africa. Of course, if Oscar did what PBF did to him, it would be all over CNN and outrage among the community. Double standard? Definately.

If De La Hoya's attire looked like this:

I'd bet my bank account the African community would be outraged and it would've overshadowed the fight no matter how good it turned out to be. It's blatant disrespect.
