Flash Tizzle
Yeah, I advise everyone not to monitor Gonzalez's start. It's bad. REAL bad. I suppose this is the wakeup call for anyone expecting a clear path for Gonzalez to the majors. He is a White Sox prospect, after all. Flash Tizzle
QUOTE(Heads22 @ May 4, 2007 -> 08:38 PM) We still have Eggy. Until his one meltdown game. I don't believe you're officially a White Sox prospect until fans begin to have faith in your abilities, then you have a game resembling Felix Diaz. What's important now is how Gonzalez rebounds. I'd feel a lot better if I heard his changeup or curveball wasn't on.

CWSGuy406
What the f*** is going on with Josh Fields? Another weak night at the plate -- 1-for-5. I know it's early, but he needs to get going, ASAP.

I'd feel a lot better if I heard his changeup or curveball wasn't on. I think there's a reason places like BA, BP and Sickels blogs rated Gio as a B prospect. And there's a reason why PHI gave up on him. He started out great last season and fell apart. Given his size, I think stamina/durability is a big concern. As is a propensity to give up BB and HRs. If the Sox could put him in a trade for a position player, I wouldn't be upset.
witesoxfan
QUOTE(fathom @ May 4, 2007 -> 09:32 PM) We should have either traded him or Crede last offseason. Is Fields the next Russell Branyan? If he is, there's value there, but not as a future 3Bman; stopgap 3Bman at best.
BearSox
It seems to me that Fields has lost motivation from not making the show, and has been quite lazy...

He gets to use that excuse for a day, two is really pushing it. After that it's time to man up and be a professional. Prove you belong. BearSox
QUOTE(witesoxfan @ May 5, 2007 -> 02:08 PM) so how was he going to make the Sox out of Spring Training? Not every single Sox minor leaguer can use the BA excuse. Im not making exsuses for him. If he wants to act like a baby, let him. I'm just saying the reasons for his struggles is that he is probably playing lazy, probably because he thought he played good enough last year to warrent a chance in the MLB. But I am not making excuses for him.

Dick Allen
QUOTE(witesoxfan @ May 5, 2007 -> 02:08 PM) so how was he going to make the Sox out of Spring Training? Not every single Sox minor leaguer can use the BA excuse. Speaking of BA, he has his AVG up to .333 after an 0 for 7 start. That's 100 points higher that Terrero was hitting. Whitewashed in '05
I hope he completely tears up AAA. The only way he's gonna be called up again is when grinderstad eventually goes down.
