sat46
If Danny Wright didn't pitch his guts out today we would not have won. (Valentin, Lee, and Thomas get special mention.)
Mathew
Like I said before good effort all around, even Koch and Gordon. (Maybe not DJ but close enough)
whitesox247
Like I said before good effort all around, even Koch and Gordon. (Maybe not DJ but close enough) Agreed. Lots of players stepped up bigtime when we needed to: Dan Wright getting out of some TOUGH jams and not allowing a run since the 1st inning; Gordon for getting Sosa and Alou and putting a stop to the Cubs rally; Koch for keeping us in the game; Thomas, Lee for their solo shots; Maggs for that HUGE insurance run; and of course Jose for his walk-off dinger. And it was a miracle that DLo's mistake didnt cost us, he proves again and again that he is a f***ing piece of s***. :fyou

Danny Wright may or may not pan out in the long run. but I love the guy. He's got guts and he's a fighter. It ain't always pretty but gives it his all. seventytwo
Gotta disagree with DWright closing. He is just too wild. We've already got a closer like that.
DonkeyKongerko
Gotta disagree with DWright closing. He is just too wild. We've already got a closer like that. I dunno. I kinda see him as an aspiring Gagne at this point in his career.

Being a closer is a much more different mentality than starter. Danny has good stuff, he just doesnt know how to use it. By being a closer, he doesnt have to save his stuff, he can bring all he has for just one inning. But he wont get the chance as long as hes with us. elrockinMT
Danny Wright deserves a lot of credit today for his effort. He did some great pitching in stress just when he needed to step up. I could see him being a closer, if he could bring that same intensity to the mound and get that first guy out.
rafacosta
Great game for D Wright! We have a great SR. This team can get in a row with this pitching and our offense is getting better.
witesoxfan
I dunno. I kinda see him as an aspiring Gagne at this point in his career. If he just let's it loose and gets real f***ing ugly....he could be a hell of a closer. He has good stuff(I know he can hit 94-96 on the gun sometimes...no reason he can't get that up to 96-98 or so as a closer throwing it harder), and he's got some good movement on his pitches. I could definately see Danny becoming a very good closer someday.
Guest Ncorgbl
If Danny Wright didn't pitch his guts out today we would not have won. (Valentin, Lee, and Thomas get special mention.) Yes he did. He gets better each game out after his injury.

southsider2k5
Yeah despite what the moron behind me said, Danny pitched great.
