BearSox
Carter has been beastly once again. And Gomes seems to be finally showing some of that great potential I've heard so much about.
NorthSideSox72
Donny Lucy has thrown out 10 of the last 14 would-be base stealers against him, and picked one off as well.
caulfield12
QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ May 9, 2007 -> 09:15 AM) Donny Lucy has thrown out 10 of the last 14 would-be base stealers against him, and picked one off as well. AJ was 2 for 14 coming into yesterday...without the help of Big Game Freddy Garcia.
fathom
QUOTE(caulfield12 @ May 9, 2007 -> 02:18 PM) AJ was 2 for 14 coming into yesterday...without the help of Big Game Freddy Garcia. I believe both of the caught stealings were on blown hit-and-runs.
Balta1701
How is Mr. Owens looking at the plate this year?
Kalapse
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ May 9, 2007 -> 11:13 AM) How is Mr. Owens looking at the plate this year? Well he's down to .277/.357/.327/.683, 13:16 BB:K, in 101 ABs he has 5 extra base hits all of them being doubles. He is 14/18 in stolen bases which is nice but after his hot start he's now come back down to earth.
danman31
QUOTE(BearSox @ May 9, 2007 -> 08:45 AM) And Gomes seems to be finally showing some of that great potential I've heard so much about. Kind of. He's only hitting .255 in his 2nd year at low A after starting last year at high A and he's 22, a bit on the old side for the league. That said, he has a very good walk rate (14 in 98 at-bats) giving him a pretty solid .348 obp. He's doing better, but he's still not much of a prospect IMO. winninguglyin83
Shelby looking like a bust to me. can't make contact. too many whiffs. and not sure if the move to CF is an indictment of his glove work at 2b or evidence that we're still looking for a CF of the future.
