JUSTgottaBELIEVE
QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ May 12, 2007 -> 06:50 PM) Erstad's OPS now sits at .640. Of course, he'll bunt a runner over next week and drive in a run on a 1-for-4 night, and everyone will be gah-gah over him again. We need a CFer. Let's let Erstad play in a role he'd be perfectly acceptable in as the 4th OFer, and hopefully Kenny can get the Sox a real CFer by July. guess we need a new RF, 1B, and 3B since their OPS are all lower than erstads man, kennys gonna be busy! southsideirish71
QUOTE(fathom @ May 12, 2007 -> 06:52 PM) Sweeney's swing definitely seemed longer and not smooth. Hawk was talking about how in batting practice he saw some power by Sweeney and how he can hit 20-25 homers. Let the kid first learn how to hit at the majors consistantly before we start to jack his swing.

He should learn how to hit the majors before anything.

Still gotta love taking his ability to take pitches, though. And he's taking cuts at pitches that are good to hit, too. You were also right about the Sox blowing a huge chance in that prior inning. The Royals just tried to hand the Sox the game there for the second straight night.

danman31
QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ May 12, 2007 -> 06:46 PM) It may be my imagination, but there appeared to be something different about Sweeney's swing his last AB. I'll have to pay closer attention his next time up. From first glance, his three swings just didn't look right. He swung much harder than I've ever seen him swing on that 1st strike. If walker is trying to f*** his swing up, while other guys on this team cannot hit and our batting average is last in the american league, he is begging for a pink slip. mr_genius
QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ May 12, 2007 -> 07:02 PM) Except Sweeney who was never like this i never saw his swing in AAA or anything like that. so all i can go by is past prospects and their swings and sweeny's. When crede first came up, looppy swing; anderson, looopy swing; borchard, delux slow loopy swing; ect. i'm not saying Walker is a good hitting coach or anything, just bringing up an observation.
