Kalapse
QUOTE(fathom @ May 16, 2007 -> 10:27 PM) No offense GP, but this is the type of post that just irritates the hell out of me right now. He didn't catch it...that's fine. Not everything he does have to be complimented though. There was nothing good or bad about that play. Running into the wall isn't always the smartest thing. His running full speed into the wall is why it was a triple in the first place, it took him about 4 seconds to regroup after slamming into the fencing. fathom
QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 17, 2007 -> 03:28 AM) Talk about a bad read, Sweeney had no clue where that ball was going to land until about 2 seconds before it hit the ground. I guess LF at the Cell has taken over RF at Fenway as the toughest outfield position to play.
Brian
Hey, we scored 6 runs today!!! Oh wait, we played 2 games.

Ah, that explains it. Just remember, this extra hustle is a good thing.
fathom
Safe to say Sweeney is a better offspeed hitter than fastball hitter at this stage in his career?

Don't worry, we'll get bases loaded, than the next 3 guys will try and win it and end up popping up.
fathom
So, will Hawk talk about the time Fransworth faced us at the Cell about 6 years ago when he was on the Cubs and was dominating?

We used to hit Farnsworth around pretty well, didn't we? Come on lead off man, try and hit a 3 run homer with nobody on!
fathom
Hawk ended the suspense quickly. Erstad swings at a fastball over his head....fantastic leadoff hitter!

fathom
Mackowiak helps out Farnsy by swinging at ball 4 twice. Farnsy must have thrown about 5 legit strikes that entire inning. Thank heavens Mackowiak is our 5th hitter with all of his power.
Chisoxfn
Mack also hat a freaking cookie early in the game and failed. That said he delivered our only RBI.

fathom
Someone needs to tell Cooper that Sisco's blessed with a great arm....stop trying to make him into a control pitcher. If he can't let it fly without throwing strikes, then send his ass down to the minors.

Whitewashed in '05
You do not give the Yankees or any major league offense for that matter more than 3 outs in an inning let alone 5. You do not take outs away from you're self by stupid base running mistakes. Our offense is about the most pitiful I've seen and our relief pitchers are overrated. Yuk. Yep....it's not all about players struggling. Some of these lineups are inexcusable (and it's not Ozzie's fault). KW did very little to help this team offensively this season.
