Soxfest
QUOTE(caulfield12 @ May 18, 2007 -> 04:36 PM) Ummm...apparently you missed 2004 and 2005. If you had the choice of: 1) Riske 2) Nelson 3) Cotts 4) Politte 5) Tracey 6) Montero Who would you have used of that bundle of mediocrity that would have pitched amazingly better for you? Again he is not a very good manager at getting the right guy in the right situation, he was totally lost in post game today in talking about his match-up cheatsheet. . He does this almost on a nightly basis! Edited May 19, 2007 by Soxfest
dagotony06
QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ May 18, 2007 -> 08:01 PM) And to add my own Cubs/Sox game story. A few years ago, at a Cubs/Sox game at the Cell, a Cubs fan brought a sign saying something to the tune of "Sox Suck." I saw the guy after a dominating Sox win that day, and he crossed out the sign, and proceeded to write "Favre Sucks" on the other side. All while incredibly intoxicated and nearly unable to walk down the ramps. Solid. BTW, did anyone call out Hall for not blocking that slider from MacDougal? That was a s***ty, half-ass effort that cost us a run. AJ should have been in the game as a defensive replacement. Hall had just batted in the top of the 7th, so Guillen should have put in his best defensive catcher. MacDougal is tough to catch.
nitetrain8601
Tommorow, if you're going to the game and someone starts s***, I suggest you fight. I don't care if you have to fight pregnant woman, that just means no below the waist action. Stomp their asses out. I want blood, violence, uproar, people going to hospitals. I want the evening news coverage. Enough of this being classy bulls***. FIGHT! If someone throws a beer bottle at me, I'm kicking their ass, even if they bring their 3 year old daughter. IlliniKrush
QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 18, 2007 -> 07:32 PM) I was at this game. First of all, the Cub fans who where there should be ashamed of how they acted after that game. I had one lady throw a beer at me, walking on shefield. This behavior wasnt isolated to one or 2 fans. It was a lot of cub fans targetting a couple of groups around me. I had another couple come up and the guy wanted to fight me, all because I was wearing a sox shirt and hat. I was with a group from work, and the sox fans were targeted. It was almost dangerous how intoxicated and agitated some of their fans were. Yeah, this I was around your classic drunk frat guys the entire game, and i wasn't even in the bleachers. These guys were f***ing lit. Every single time the Cubs got a hit or the Sox f***ed up, i got middle fingers and f*** yous directed at me because i was the closest sox fan. Meanwhile I did not once swear at these guys or yell at them or anything of the sort, i just cheered for my team. Even the cubs fans around them couldn't stand these dbags. And people wonder why Sox fans hate the Cubs and their fans. Oh also probably the dumbest thing i've heard at a game, ever. Do you remember when (i don't remember which inning) Ramirez took a 2-0 pitch for a strike basically with the bat on his shoulder, no chance he'd swing? My friend (cubs fans) and I were like that's weird, he should have been looking to pop a fastball, 2-0 is a great hitters count there and he was on automatic take mode. Well one of the dbags overheard us and said "No, 3-1 is a good pitch to hit, not 2-0. You must not know anything about baseball." I can't make this stuff up people. nitetrain8601
If you're in the bleachers, bring your clorox or whatever poison substances you have. And if you had watched today's game, you'd be aware our manager is as close to 100 percent at fault for the loss as possible. Everything right down to Pablo at 3rd. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ May 18, 2007 -> 07:57 PM) LMAO, and everyone said the games against the Cubs don't mean s***. Look at the uproar. Yesterday, we were feeling good. Had a lot of momentum and were playing much better. Today, we are nowhere close to contention and Ozzie is worse than Jerry Manuel. 1. Ozzie has been worse than Jerry Manuel for a long time now. Manuel did nothing, but if Ozzie were to take that strategy we'd be much better off. 2. Today's loss would have pissed me off to no end regardless of the opponent. Just the fact it was the pissheads made it worse.

Pablo at 3rd is a lock for an error or hit that should have been an error minimum. fathom
Ozuna's received way, way too much playing time lately. He's been a horrible major league player basically since his injury last year. He should not be at 3rd base ever, ever, ever. Anytime he starts at 3rd, Ozzie had a bad game managing, no matter what else he does. This is the same concept as Mackowiak in CF last year, I just hope it doesn't reach those levels.

Mack was signed to be a backup to Crede at 3rd base, because Ozuna kicked the ball more than he caught it at third. Mack doesnt backup the infield now. Even though thats what he did in Pittsburg. Going with the players Ozzie had available today, defensively, it's quite simple. Mackowiak at 3B Sweeney in LF If it's an absolute must to have Ozuna in there, put him in LF. And again, it seems like Ozzie rather play the Lefty Righty matchup way too much instead of getting off his ass from drinking some cold ones and doing research. Mainly that MacDougal's ERA against hitters such as the first one he faced was .417. Don't get me started on Greg, "Lift and Pull, even if the pitch is low and away" Walker.
