How's Brian looking? He's already leading the Knights in OBP and OPS, and .001 behind Owens in avg.

Well this is the first game I've been able to watch on here (I got it as a gift about 4 days ago, and this is their first TV game) so I couldn't tell you :). He roped a single up the middle with 2 outs in the 2nd though tonight and scored the only run of tonights game on a bloop single by the great Gustavo Molina.

Thome is now 0 for 1 with a flyout and walk, Owens 0 for 1 with a k, walk, and caught stealing.

I really wish we could get Anderson back up to the majors for an extended time this year to see if there's anyway he can be a starter for the Sox in 2008.

Erstad to LF, Anderson to CF, leave em both alone. :P

Anderson up with the bases loaded 1 out after an RBI single by Fields. Here ya go Heads. And he's frozen on a breaker for the k, ouch. Then Rogowski breaks his bat and grounds out to first to let them out of it, ugh.

Man it's so much better when you are actually watching the game. First of all, what a fall for Chris Shelton, .245 AVG and .780 OPS in Triple A after what he did early last year? Wow. Anyways, he hit a 2 out double off the wall, and an incredible relay by Kenny Kelly, Andy Gonzalez, and then tag by Gustavo Molina retires Ramon Santiago. Wow.

HAHA they intentionally walk Thome to get to Fields, and he hits the first pitch out for a grand slam. Outstanding.

QUOTE(BearSox @ May 19, 2007 -> 07:17 PM)
was it a blast?

They're facing Timo? THe knight's have no chance.

Yeah thank God for that relay to the plate to end last inning, or Timo is up with a man on and it would have only been 2-1. We'd have been toast. Btw, Timo had a .324 average coming into this at bat to lead the Mudhens, and he singled here, HAHA.

As for Fields homer, it wasn't a blast persay, but he did hit it over the 365 sign in left center and over a wall that appears to be about 15 feet tall, and more impressive is he jumped on a first pitch hanging BREAKING ball, which isn't easy to do, let alone with the bases loaded (and the guy for Toledo's only good looking pitch tonight has been his breaker). And he did hit it very hard, the OF barely had time to get back to the wall and look up, and he was playing deep.

Question. Are the knights broadcasted on any sports channels?

I don't believe so. They hadn't been on the last 4 games, and the Knights next 4 games are on MILB TV on the Toledo feed, as the Mudhens broadcast all their games online it appears.

Wow Timo pops out to 2nd, no run, and then Heath doubles his good work by picking off the runner with the bases loaded, 2 outs and the cleanup hitter up to end the threat.

Thome scored Owens on an RBI single after he was hit by a pitch and Lopez walked (good), then Fields GIDP's to end the inning (bad).

Gio's not doing too well tonight.

That Montgomery lineup has two positional prospects better than any in our organization in Bringac (sp?) and Longoria. Kudos to Tampa Bay for doing a great job with all of the top ten picks they've been handed over the years -- Young, Upton, Baldelli, Longoria and Niemann. Am I missing any?

New Toledo P Anthony Tomey will face Jim Thome this inning (yes, they are pronounced the same way).

Thome and Fields walked, and Andy Gonzalez had a bloop single, so for the 2nd time tonight, Anderson is up with them loaded and only 1 out. And for the 2nd time in this spot, he falls behind 0-2. This time, he hits into a 4-6 force play, softly hit so he beats the throw to 1st easily, and Thome scores, so it's an RBI groundout. Better than the K last time he was up in this spot.

dukes and hamilton seem to finally be paying off also, even though they have had their fair share of struggles

Knights win 8-2. Heath pitched 7, allowed a lot of baserunners (8 hits, 2 walks) but only 1 run and had 4 k's while pitching well to get out of some jams (and got help on that relay and pick off running gaffe) to move to 4-3 with a 4.07 (although he now has 25 walks in 55 innings to last years 39 in 155, oy) and his GO/AO is down at 0.91 from 1.38.

Wassermann and his weird delivery allowed a run on 2 hits with 1 k in the 8th (rare run allowed for him), and Prinz with another good outing, scoreless 9th on 2 hits, but struck out the side.

Owens 0 for 3 with a walk and hit by pitch, run scored, 2 k's, and caught stealing. Lopez 2 for 4 with 2 runs and a walk, Thome 1 for 2 with 2 runs, an RBI, and 3 walks. Anderson 1 for 5 with a run, RBI, K, and 5 LOB (ick), and Fields was 2 for 4 with a run, walk, k, and 5 RBI's (including the grand slam).

Thome being interviewed post game sounds like he thinks he'll be back and playing after tomorrow's finale with the Cubs.

B-Ham lost 6-2. Gio wasn't too great, but considering that lineup he was against, it could have been worse (5 IP, 7 hits, 3 runs earned, 3 walks, 4 k's) and Sierra was awful in relief. Cory Aldridge was the entire offense, he had 2 of the 4 team hits and both RBI's of the night on solo homers, Getz and Lucy each 0 for 4 with a k each.

W-S lost 8-7 in 10 innings. Everybody that pitched for W-S was bad except Joseph Torres and Chirino was ok (the one hot Matthew Zaleski sucked, Lujan was bad for once, Omogrosso was brutal after being better lately). Cunningham FINALLY had a breakout game of this slump, 3 for 5 with a triple and run scored, Schnur 1 for 4 with a walk and run, David Cook 3 for 5 with a 2 run homer, Adam Ricks 2 for 5 with an RBI and run, Paulo Orlando was 3 for 4 with a walk, k, 2 runs, a homer, and 2 RBI.

And completing the organizational theme of outstanding pitching today, Kanny won 10-9 in 10 innings. Edwards and Santeliz were both pretty bad, however Texiera, Noe Rodriguez, and John Wesley combined 5.2 innings of scoreless relief, allowing only 2 hits, 2 walks, and 6 k's. That set the stage for Chris Carter to be the hero once again. Carter was 2 for 4 with a walk and a pair of 2 run homers, the latter capping a 4 run rally in the 8th to force it to extras. Shelby was 2 for 6 with 3 runs and a k, Sharp 3 for 6 with 2 runs, 2 k's, and 2 RBI, Allen 2 for 5 with a k and solo HR, Cruz 2 for 5 with an RBI and k, really everybody hit well.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ May 20, 2007 -> 12:18 AM)
I've been waiting for Lee Cruz to break out. I hope he can.

He is bizarre. He is a righty swinger hitting .305 against RHP and .200 against southpaws. He only has 13 k's in 115 plate apperances, however he also has only THREE WALKS, keeping his OPS at a atrocious .721 (although his .420 slugging ain't nothing to write home about either).

Although he is red hot lately, .341 his last 10 games with 14 of his 31 hits this year, 8 of his 12 extra base hits, 7 of his 12 RBI, and only 3 k's in 41 at bats (but ZERO walks). But as you can see, of his 30 games, the vast majority of the damage he's done has been in the most recent 1/3rd, so he's been better.
