MLB 2K8 is the closest thing you can find to MVP 2005. I still play MLB 2K8, in my third year running a parallel franchise to the real life White Sox. I have the injuries turned off, but have the option to force trades turned on. So, when someone gets hurt for real, and I don't have room on one of the minor league rosters, I can trade them to another team until they are active again. Jake Peavy is with the Padres until he's healthy again, I had Teahen with Pittsburgh until he began his rehab. I had to create Vizquel, Threets and Aquino because they had all retired on the game. So did Thome.

mlb 2k whatever is garbage

The closest to mvp 2005 you will find is MLB 10 the Show. However, the Show is like 100x better than mvp. It is the best sports game of all-time.

I have to say, given the initial bad reaction Madden was getting, I wanted to come back in here and say how much I am loving it.

I actually like having the coordinator audio on, while I call my own plays. It feels kinda realistic to have him chirping in my ear, so that's pretty cool. Plus, it really helps on defense.

At first I thought I'd hate no turbo, but it actually has improved the game ten-fold. Instead of pumping the turbo, I'm looking for holes and making moves with my running back. They have greatly improved the blocking in all aspects of the game, so you can actually trust your blockers to throw a proper one leaving you in the clear.

They finally figured out how to make WRs plant their feet, and they even did it properly so that every sideline throw does not equal an automatic grab. If the receiver is in position, he'll more than likely attempt a foot plant.

The game feels way more realistic this year. I'm 3-3 as the Bears (although prior to the trade deadline I overhauled the offensive line with picks sent out for older guys... Cutler was getting creamed). I've had a couple of really close games, including a missed 48 yarder by Gould with no time left to tie against the surprisingly good Panthers, and blew out the Lions and snuck by the Packers.

EA really got it right this year, so I wanted to come and post about it.

Ill play devils advocate with Madden, online at least. This is by far one of the worst versions of this game in recent memory. Ive bought this game every year since it has came out basically and I will be selling my copy of 11 when NHL11 comes out. The defense is a joke, you simply cant play defense. They made it impossible to even attempt to play a zone defense, it looks worse then the Bears cover 2 in real life when they have no pass rush.

On offense you can score at will. Running, passing, whatever. Any running back will run over any linebacker or safety and will get you about 10 ypc even if the defense has schemed the play perfectly. If you want to pass you have your choice between a dump to the backs in the flat who will be wide open everytime (even in a press man coverage), a fade route or a slant. The fade routes are a joke. I can be in a 4 deep zone with coverage backed off and shifted to the side of the field and fast WRs will just run past the secondary and be wide open. As far as slants, they are wide open, every single time.

Lag. For whatever reason every game lags now. Its impossible to attempt field goals because most of the time it doesnt register when you hit x to kick and you hook it. It also makes it really choppy.

Offline I guess is different I guess but in terms of online play its basically unplayable. I will probably never buy a Madden game again.

THIS.

Not only is it impossible to play defense, if the reciever or running back is decently good he's breaking tackles & juking the s*** out of the defense like Barry Sanders.

Offline isn't as bad. It'd be nice if they were to release a patch to fix some of this.

Couldn't agree more. It is nearly impossible to stop anyone. Every game I play on or offline is a shootout.

I found the original roller coaster tycoon at my uncle's house over the weekend.

What a fantastic game.

Gotta love it, I bought an original Nintendo with the original Sim City just to play occasionally, it's still awesome.

Holy.

In RTTS, Sox have acquired:

Yonder Alonso, Dominic Brown, David Wright, Michael Young, Derek Norris, Ryan Theriot, Mike Napoli, Shin Soo-Choo, Mike Leake, Boof Bonser, JC Romero, Jesse Crain, Renyel Pinto.

Yet they are 29-35.

The RTTS Ozzie must have batted Mark Kotsay in the 3 hole.

NHL 11 came out yesterday!?!??!

Cash money bye bye.

Picked it up yesterday and also reserved AC:Brotherhood while I was at it,

Game plays a little differently than NHL 10. Gonna have to get used to it some. Cool that the major junior leagues are included, and with real players too. Probably won't use it much but it's a nice addition.

Anyone else get Reach? Pretty sick game so far, still getting used to using the abilities and length of time to kill someone has increased, I keep thinking it is Halo 3 or 2 and assume the guy is dead after 4 headshots or an AR clip and beat down.

Campaign seems ok, thru 4 missions, hasn't taken long at all I feel like more could be put into it.
