Yeah I think I recommended that about 6 months back Tony.

Always been the best Tennis series out there by a mile.

I prefer using Roddick the most myself. Big power strokes.

Try and unlock the King (took me about 20 times to beat him) in Tournament Mode.

I think I'm gonna settle for a GC controller. I can't find a Wavebird better than $50 used + shipping.

Seriously Nintendo, why did you stop making these?

It doesn't make sense, especially since they tout the Wii as being compatible with your GC controllers.

On a similar note, I bought myself a Wii today. Damn Smash Brawl... Got it for $325 shipped, brand-new, on Ebay. Comes with Guitar Hero III (game only). I figure that game is worth ~$40, and tax would've been $25-$30 (damn Cook County), so I only overpaid by a few dollars, if anything. I didn't want to wait for stores to get stock, nor did I want to call/drive around or ask friends at game stores to hold one for me.

Those all seem to be discontinued or expired if you click on through. Your efforts are appreciated.

So my PS3 doesn't play MLB '08 The Show anymore. I even went as far to exchange copies of the game (got a brand new one) and it wouldn't work. The system just doesn't flat out recognize that the game is in it. It plays all other games without a problem. I was ranked 33 online, this sucks balls.

It might be your router. for some reason MLB08 does not work with belkin routers. try disabling your ps3's internet connection, then start the game. If it opens, it is your internet connection. If it doesn't then there could be something wrong with the disc itself.

So for anyone frustrated with the pitching in MLB 2008: The Show, I think I figured it out. Basically the pitchers have a momentum meter that will get bigger and bigger the more he pitches well (big strikeout, big double play, etc). To begin the game the power setting area (normally the light blue/white) doesn't have a line, but the better your pitcher does, the more confidence he has, the bigger that line will be. Once you reach that point, you can essentially spot the ball anywhere you want it. Last night I had Vazquez with a no-no going into the seventh but got lazy and f'n Carl Crawford hit a bloop single.

Sweet game though for anyone on the fence.

Also did anyone pick up Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds? I'll be picking it up as soon as I get to a store. I love that game.

Take-Two/Rockstar rejected EA's bid to take them over today as they said they would. They did say they are looking to sell to someone else though. Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft all have the money to do it. Wonder if any of them would be willing to.

Thank the lord for that. Could you imagine EA taking over a series like GTA? They'd literally just change the names on the signs, put different colors of clothes on people and slap a new title on the same game - year after year.

As much as I love a couple of EA series, they are money grubbing bastards who really don't serve their fan base.

From wiki:

In 2005, in response to EA Sports' exclusive license with the National Football League and ESPN, Take-Two Interactive signed an exclusive third-party licensing contract with Major League Baseball (MLB), MLBPA and MLBAM to produce MLB games. The agreement, which runs from Spring 2006 to 2012, allows for the console manufacturers Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo to produce MLB titles for their respective platforms, but bars third party developers such as EA Sports from continuing or developing their own MLB games. As a result, the MVP Baseball series now features college baseball, with MVP 06 NCAA Baseball having been released in late January 2006, and MVP 07: NCAA Baseball in February of 2007.

Just picked up Rogue Galaxy for PS2 and MLB Power Pros for Wii for $20 each. Also subscribed to GameFly. Seems like a good decision so far, though the first game I rented, Mario & Sonic Olympics, sucks hard.
