Don't do it Bob. You don't even have Resistance 2 yet.

I played the first Resistance so much that I had no desire to play 2. I'm an RPG gamer at heart, and the PS3 just doesn't give me enough satisfaction there. With Warhammer out and the list of upcoming RPG's for the PC, I don't think I can go wrong. That, and I don't feel like waiting another year for FF13. I might pick up a 360 when it comes out.

If you ask me, it sucks.

Yeah I finally got a chance to mess with it over the weekend. IMO it's a cool idea in theory, but it'll depend on how much content they get on there. Right now it's pretty weak, but if they create a truly diverse world (of advertising) I could see it being big. For example in the "Central Plaza" area there are lots of stages. If they would put on a show of sorts from a real band to try and get some business, I could see myself getting my toon there and listening/watching. It's a little too early for me to judge right now since there's not much to do.

I picked up NBA 2k9 and Civilization: Colonization. Civ was only 20 bucks and i'm a big fan of the series. This one is probably my favorite as it gets rid of the technology aspect and replaces it with a big trading system. You basically have to create a massive trading empire to build enough troops and then eventually revlolt against the major power that financed your initial trip.

2k9 is awesome. I still think the menus suck (why does it have to be so f'n confusing?) but the graphics and gameplay are top notch.

So I bought Wi Fitness for my mom for Christmas and now I need to find a good deal on a WII (which is what I'm getting myself). Anyone have any recommendations. I'd probably want all the nunchecks and that jazz too cause I plan on using it mainly as a family type of game system.

GameStop has consistently had Wii's in for the last month, and that's where I got mine three weeks ago. Call around, if they answer the phone "GameStop we have Wii's" then you're money.

I'm probably going to trade in my Wii in a few months actually.

Have sort of stopped playing it, and I'm more of a serious gamer anyways.

Don't trade it at a GameStop, you'll never get your money's worth. Heck, folks on Craig's List are willing to trade PS3's for Wii's right now, so definitely look at alternative options. You would rake in good money on eBay as well.

Nintendo releases its EU Q1 2009 Lineup

While 2008 may be drawing to a close, the money machine that is Nintendo shows no sign of slowing down. The company has just announced its Q1 2009 lineup, with a new series of titles called 'New Play Control!', a new DS walking game and third-party titles such as Madworld.

The New Play Control! series will kick off with remakes of the GameCube classics Pikmin and Mario Power Tennis complete with new 480p widescreen graphics and motion controls. Originally released on the GameCube in 2002, Pikmin will receive its long-awaited Wii follow-up on February 6. Nintendo will follow in March with Mario Power Tennis for the Wii; players can wave the Wii Remote to execute forehand and backhand shots as well as affecting topspin, slice spin and special moves. And finally, Sega and PlatinumGames will be bringing chainsaw-armed combat and man-darts to the Wii in the same month with its highly-anticipated Madworld. Other games on the list include House of the Dead, Castlevania Judgment and PES 2009, although Rock Band 2 is notable by its absence.

Nintendo has also unveiled a new DS title called 'Walk with me! Do you know your walking routine?'. The game utilises two pedometers to record your steps throughout the day, with a variety of built-in mini-games to motivate your walking. With support for up to four players on one DS each user can compare and compete with each others walking activity, generate stats such as how much electrical energy your walking has generated, and share it via Wi-Fi to other 'Walk with Me!' users.

That's like saying you won't buy a dvd player because of the thousands of bad movies made.

There are bad wii games and good games. Same with Ps3,360 and my example: dvds. So, yes it is.

Show me any video game system with a library as big as the DVD lot and I'll buy that system. Until then, the comparison is not a good one. The lot size of Wii video games isn't large enough to make a a bold claim like comparing it to DVDs, nor is it for any system... the PC included.

Not only that, DVDs aren't marketed for the player. Video games are. Maybe if DVD players were played only to play specific titles, you'd have a case. But they aren't made that way.

well considering a good game can last months and a dvd is good for 2 hours, it's still a good comparison.

Also consider the fact that there are very few games that will keep a person interested for months, and then it starts to make sense why he wouldn't gravitate towards a console that generally makes children's games.

But that's not the case with Wii. Maybe the majority of the games are G-rated, but not all.

didn't see the point of my post. I used G and Disney as example

There isn't a big enough sample size to use your comparison, that's my point. U linked all dvds.
