I am thinking about buying MLB.tv and playing it through my PS3 browser. Anybody have any good or bad luck with this?

Test it first. I've tried playing certain streaming videos through my PS3 and it doesnt work (from ahllive.com for example). Going to hulu or youtube works so I guess it depends on what kind of video it is. Make sure it works before buying the whole season.

Youtube works for me. If it does not work I can just buy the cable to hook my laptop to my TV, but using the PS3 would be much easier.

I haven't had any luck with it yet. I tried the audio, but there are problems with the pop up that comes up. I don't know if it's the lack of Microsoft Silverlight or something else. It would be cool if it did work though.

Ya know, as much as I loved that game, I have to believe that at this point it would be absolute crap compared to the show 08 (the last one I've purchased). The graphics would be terrible, the movement of the players would be more unrealistic, and the controls would be unbearably slow and unresponsive compared to what is out there now. At the time it was the greatest, but I dont think it could compare anymore.

I haven't gotten 09 yet. Anyone else have a review of it? The demo seems fine. I don't really feel like dropping 60 bucks on an updated roster from 08.

Not true, I just played MVP 05 a couple weeks ago and still in love with the game. The only thing that was annoying is out-dated rosters, but graphics were fine for me and gameplay is just awesome.

You can update it to 2008.

It's a shame that there isn't a decent baseball game for Xbox. Maybe next year...

So this Empire Total War game is pretty sweet. Pro tip: I know the musketeers have muskets and you know that's super modern for the time period or whatever but f*** that noise. Fix the bayonets and go to town. They do way more damage that way!

Downloaded the demo for MLB The Show, any tips for that? I'm pretty sure I've never played a baseball game in ... well I don't think I've ever played one now that I think about it. The closest I've come to baseball is an afternoon in the batting cages at a birthday party back in elementary school. So yeah. Tips are welcome.

$6 for the cable on monoprice. Works like a charm. I got it to work last year for my PS3. In fact, there hasn't been anything that I've thrown on my PS3 that has been rejected.

It should actually work depending on the file type. Does it have any problems playing any other movies on your IPod? You may need to convert the movie to an .avi or .divx format. I'll try, but I won't be able to report back until tomorrow probably as I won't be home tonight.

I got Burnout Paradise over the w/e, only to find out my graphics card needed a new driver to play and was still pretty laggy.

Can't wait to get the Gateway P-7805FX from Best Buy before I go back home for my PC gaming needs.

I changed my mind on The Show 09. I just needed to warm up to it.

Anyway, is that league underway? If it's not, I'll volunteer to set it up. PM me if you're interested in playing and if you want to use the set rosters or have a draft.

If it is underway, somebody tell me to shut up.

I'm interested in a league.

However, I've tried to set up another one with friends and came across a couple of problems to become a commissioner.

1.) You have to registered 14 days.

2.) You need to play 10 games online.

3.) You have to have an average star rating of 3.

Well, I got the first 2 taken care of, and all of my star ratings have been 5s, but it still shows a question mark where the star rating should be.

not as far as i know....the team that developed the game are on vacation....and plan to make and release a patch for the game when they come back.

Here is some problems I see with the game: I started the show, created my player, and entered the draft. Drafted for right field by the Cleveland Indians(I thought I'll see where this goes).

#1-The game starts your ratings too low. With the default sliders, the game isn't too realistic with the hitting attributes. Me and my friends messed with the sliders to get a more realistic experience with the game. With how we fixed the sliders, the game was more fun than what it was with default sliders, and I collected realistic stats. First season .305 ave, 11 hr, 56 rbi's, 23 walks, 65 k's, .817 ops. Fixed with slider alteration. I plan to eventually turn sliders back to normal as my player progresses through his career.

#2-Advancement goal period before the all-star break I only made 2 of the 6 goals and was put on the trade block. Cleveland proceeded to trade me to the Cardinals because of the failed goal period. You don't trade an 18 year old prospect in AA for Trevor Miller....just because of 1 goal period....not realistic. But I like the Cardinals and went with the trade anyway. Not able to fix this problem.

#3-AI pitching is stellar, along with the defense. This was expected from all the specs I heard about the game. Except that it seems like all players are gold glovers. I turned the AI reaction down 2 notches. Got more realistic fielding. Fixed by turning Pitch control down 1-2 notches and fielding reaction time down 1-2 notches. This might stay the same throughout career as I get realistic walk rates and k rates....and get on base via believable errors.

#4-At the beginning of second year....Cardinals saw my potential, bought out my contract, put me on the 40 man roster, and invited me to Spring Training. I thought this was realistic and awesome. I was rewarded by the Cardinals. I had a decent spring mainly batting in a pinch hitter role. Cardinals moved me up to AAA to start my second year. I proceed to bat .290 ave, 9 hr, 48 rbi's.....comparable bb/k ratio and ops. Cardinals bring me to the club as a September call-up. I play one game, and go 2-4 with a k. I get ready to play the next game and the game quits on me. Shoots me right to the PS3 XMB. I then retry 10 or so more times, with the same result. I go online and find that this is a problem with many people especially Sept. callups on the 14, 15, 16 of September. I hope that when the Development team gets back from vacation they can fix this problem, send a patch out, and I can get back to the best, realistic baseball game I've ever played. I'd hate to not be able to see where my career could have went.

#4 Is the biggest problem for me.....the others can be worked with but this is a game issue or a ps3 issue and it worries me. Pleas let a patch be able to fix this problem :pray

It hasn't even been brought up since you added the game to your list of things that suck. I've only been able to play a few games since it came out but I love it and I'm definitely still interested in the league.

Here's what I'll do:

I'll get my 10 games played (I have 8 or 9 so far) and I'll set the start date for April 7, with a draft. I'll make it a short season and make it longer for season 2 if people play the games and enjoy it. Anyone who has me on the PSN, send me a message and I'll send you the details. Anyone who doesn't, reply here or send me a PM.
