Any info on the guy pitching for the A's besides that he was on the Drew Carey show.

1st round pick of Texas in the 1999 Draft (#38). 12-13 career MLB record, 6.76 ERA. Only seen 2 big league innings since 04; 2 innings pitched with Detroit last year. Usually puts up an ERA a little below 4.00 in the minors. Had shoulder surgery back in 04.

An interesting note from the "For the love of statistics" category.

The Sox are actually rated #7 in the ESPN RPI category, 4 spots ahead of their latest power-ranking. Their 22-19 record is actually three better than the Pythagarin expected record of 19-22. Their .517 strength of schedule is good for 3rd in all of baseball, and #1 in the AL.

Look at the upcoming schedules of the Tigers and Indians and look at who they have played. Then evaluate the White Sox situation.

Well, this is a pitcher the Sox haven't seen before....

That's not usually a recipe for success on the South Side....

Yet I remain cautiously optimistic.

We have seen him before. he pitched for Texas.

Lewis is 1-1 with a 5.51 ERA in four career appearances, including two starts, against the White Sox.

I stand corrected.

Well then, let's kick his arse!
