southsideirish71
QUOTE(Reddy @ May 23, 2007 -> 08:54 PM) yep 1 run on 3 hits... i mean it's not as bad as getting shut down by a guy with a 10 ERA but still... we should be able to manage 2 or 3 off this guy at the very least... So what 5 hits in 11 innings and 1 run. God this guy looks like a combination of Johan Santana, and Sandy Kofax.
greg775
The bullpen would have been just as bad. 107 pitches isn't that many.

Reddy
QUOTE(Brian @ May 23, 2007 -> 08:58 PM) Yeah, should of brought in the horrible bullpen to give up the runs. nuh uh. i was about to make that argument then i looked at the facts: - Jon worked HARD tonight - threw 107 pitches thru 6 - thats what a bullpen is f***ing for
southsideirish71
QUOTE(Brian @ May 23, 2007 -> 08:58 PM) Yeah, should of brought in the horrible bullpen to give up the runs. Well we could go back to the throw back days when our pitchers threw 130 to 150 pitches. He started the inning at near 110 pitches. Did you think good things were going to happen. fathom
QUOTE(greg775 @ May 24, 2007 -> 01:59 AM) The bullpen would have been just as bad. 107 pitches isn't that many. He was throwing stressful pitches from literally the 3rd batter of the game. Doesn't really matter though...our offense looks lifeless tonight. Anyone with a brain could see that Garland was battling tonight, and we should have considered ourselves lucky as hell if he only allowed 2 runs. Brian
I was just saying, no win situation. Gaudin ain't coming out, mid relief is awful, we were probably gonna give up runs either way and it doesn't look like we were gonna score 1. Can't win em all, tip your cap, we took 2 out of 3. It's not like previous series where we won the first two than the bullpen blew a lead. We trailed. Take the off day, get ready for Tampa Bay. southsideirish71
QUOTE(greg775 @ May 23, 2007 -> 09:01 PM) The Sox bullpen is horrible. So lets wax the starters for 120 plus down a few runs. Sure that makes sense. Enjoy the DL time for most of your starters when you do that all the time.
