So Urijah Faber loses the title this past Wednesday night. Shame, with a win you'd really have to put him in the best p4p discussion. Filho puts on a weird/disappointing/awful performance. Time to get this guy some help or something...it's obvious something was wrong with this guy.

I'm kinda glad Faber lost. He was extremely cocky and acted like he couldn't lose. Love that he tried to throw a blind elbow and got popped. Made me laugh.

The UFC cut Jon Fitch for refusing to allow the UFC to use his likeness for video games. It says more AKA fighters may follow. This is a pretty big loss for their WW division and I certainly hope Koscheck, Cain, and Swick don't follow.

Also, Dana is considering bringing Gina Carano into the WEC and Fedor wants to fight Lesnar. More bulls*** from Fedor's camp. They still won't sign any reasonable deals so it's all just talk. It's his loss though. Aside from Barnett there are no HW's in Affliction that pose even the slightest threat to him and there are no big money fights there at all. AA is going to get crushed. While Affliction's HW division is better on paper, Brock, Randy, and another Nog fight would make him a lot more money and provide a stiffer test than anything Affliction can offer, plus it would give him a hell of a lot more exposure. The UFC even has such a deep LHW pool that they could pull someone from there to fight him too. Yet it won't happen because his manager thinks M-1 is a viable organization that is somehow going to expand internationally during an international economic crisis, and do it around two reality shows that nobody gets on TV that focus on one guy who casual fans in the hottest MMA market in the world right now don't know about or care about. Dumbass. Yeah, you've got the bargaining power, sure.

Yeah, it will be interesting to see how the video game thing plays out. Fitch is an awesome fighter, but he never got over with the casual fan, which ultimately is what matters to the UFC. The next month or two will be important to see who else goes. If Kos loses to Yoshidain Dec, then that will be interesting. I think the more interesting test is that I've heard that St. Pierre is against signing over his likeness, the UFC always has the champions clause in their contracts to fall back on, but if Penn beats St. Pierre I don't think he has very many fights left on his contract.

The Fedor thing annoys me. I love Fedor and IMO he is the P4P best fighter in the world, but he and his camp have decided not to accept the limitations the UFC put on their fighters (as we see with Fitch those can be cumbersome) but some of Fedor's camp demands are over the top too. So that's a two way street as to why Fedor doesn't fight in the UFC. I think Fedor and his camp shouldn't issue grandstand charges to UFC fighters they have about 1% chance of fighting under the current circumstances and I wish Dana would stop putting down Fedor. There's no way the UFC would promote M-1, Fedor and Affliction for a one fight deal, it would be a ridiculously bad move considering their position in the U.S. MMA landscape

Fitch is back according to Meltzer.

Link to his story on it and...

Link to the daily update, about halfway down he says this was brewing between Dana White and Fitch's manager long before any of the fighters invovled even fought in the UFC. This is one of the reasons one of the Feritta brothers stepped down from Station Casino's to devote full time to the UFC, looks like he is the one who put out the fire.

The WEC show from Wed was only OK, worth TiVo'ing and FFWing... the Fabiano match is a real technical JJ match in the first round then some laying, but interesting.

Bader vs. Vinny and Nover vs. Escudero for the TUF contracts and rest is here...

http://sherdog.com/news/news/lineup-announ...-8-finale-15402

The Bader fight should be interesting since his and Vinny's standup seems limited and Bader is a top notch wrestler who laid and prayed his way to a victory in his semi-final match and Vinny is about as top notch BJJ guy you will find in MMA. So it will be interesting to see if Bader sprawls takedown shots and attempts to see who has the tallest midget standup or if he sees how good his submission defense is and shoots in on Vinny. MMA JJ is different than non striking/competition JJ such as Abu Dabi. Jacare has sick JJ and he got beat in the finals of DREAMS GP recentally, but it's a huge risk for Bader to try and lay on him. It could be the most interesting lay and pray fight ever.

http://www.mmaweekly.com/absolutenm/templa...2&zoneid=14

The Fight Night for the troops could be interesting, Kos is the only top 10 name, but often times guys trying to make an impression put on barn burner fights, and Yoshida is no push over for Kos. Al-Hassan has a 6-0 record and has some buzz around him. And hey, it's free MMA.

http://www.mmaweekly.com/absolutenm/templa...9&zoneid=14

UFC 92 has three awesome fights on it. The Big Nog/Mir fight for the interim belt and to see who will fight Lesnar will be interesting if it goes to the ground since those are two top level BJJ guys, but Big Nog might be better off keeping it on the feet since I give a good size edge to Nog there. Griffin vs. Evans for the LHW and a battle of 2 guys who make every PRIDE fanboy cry should be interesting. I keep picking against Griffin and he punks me, but I pick Rashad. Wand vs. Rampage III could be crazy. Wand left him draped over the ropes in their last match and some people who watched it honestly thought Rampage was going to be seriously injured from the beating, but Rampage looked different in beating Chuck again and Hendo and Wand, outside of the Jardine fight, hasn't looked overly impressive (when Cro Cop KO'd him in the finals of the Open Weight Grand Prix I thought he was going to be in a coma). Mustafa Al-Turk has some buzz and for TUF reasons they're putting C.B. Dalloway on the main card instead of Okami, who if he wins they'll likely show because he'll probably fight Silva next.

Affliction has a good card in January and Zuffa has some too, but let's wait on this, some good MMA coming up here.

Also, for those with HD-Net, they are showing live at 2:00a.m. the finals of the K-1 2008 GP and Hong Man Choi has a non-tournament match on there. Definitely worth watching, they usually replay their stuff so look for it. For some reason they're having Kimbo as commentator, I can only imagine that he might go the Bob Sapp route and fight in Japan soon.

I'm sold on Nover, not because Dana White has slurped him up. But because of the way he's run through his 2 opponents on the show. I think if Bader wants to win, he's gonna have to bang...it's obvious Vinny doesn't like to get hit.

I'll be DVR'ing the fight for the troops special, it's finals week...i'll watch it as a study break.

I'm geeked for UFC 92, I just hope the fights don't disappoint. At this point I have no clue on who to pick for winners.

Awesome. It doesn't even seem like the guy realizes his leg breaks, but then he goes to step backwards on it, and whoops!

That is definitely NOT awesome. I couldn't even watch that.

Now, the gigantic egg thing on Brandon Wolff that resulted from those 98593847593847593845 unanswered Ben Saunders knees, that WAS awesome. I guess you could also say Kos' KO was awesome, but I didn't really think so. Kos is one of my favorite WW's, but so is Zenko, so that was hard for me to watch.

They're promoting it not only on the commercials but the posters as well. There's no way the Dolloway fight on after Rampage/Silva.

BTW, I hope somebody caught the weigh-in staredown between Rampage/Wandy...holy. s***. This is gonna be a great card.

I tried watching it LIVE on UFC.com and instead they were showing stand up guy talking about God and a cooking program, so mad.

He's on the main card because he was on TUF and they probably have plans for him.

As for putting the fight after the Wand/Page fight, they've done it before, they probably like to spread the big matches throughout the show, they're pumping the fight, it got a ton of time and was the last fight covered on the countdown show.

They did something similar during 84 where they put the Reljic/Gouveia fight after the Ortiz/Machida fight, which was probably the most anticipated on the card.

I've got goosebumps...I really hope this doesn't disappoint.

if they show the countdown show again and you haven't seen Rampage/Wand II from PRIDE you have to see it, I remember watching a tape of it and thinking Rampage was going to have brain damage, it's ridiculously brutal
