ZoomSlowik
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Oct 31, 2007 -> 03:06 PM) Whether or not it'd be better including Gordon or Kirk overall isn't necessarily the point in this sort of deal though. The point that no one should forget is that Kirk's contract makes a deal like this 1000% easier. You have to include like 5-6 guys to come up with a legal deal for Kobe if you don't include Kirk or Wallace. And if it was possible to get Kobe Bryant without giving up more than 1 of Gordon, Deng, TT, Wallace, and Noah, it'd be hard not to jump at that. Kirk is still a base year compensation player, so they can only count half of his salary in a deal. That makes the difference between him and Gordon negligible financially. bullpenHeat
For what its worth, I believe he said that Hinrich and Artest would be going to the lakers. So probably Gordon and a big would go to sacremento.

longshot7
Trade either Gordon or Hinrich - but both? I trust Paxson better than me to make this trade. Now, to important things - what # does Kobe wear?

southsideirish71
QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Oct 31, 2007 -> 03:23 PM) used to wear 8, now 24. you know, 1 better than 23. Looking at that Statue outside the United Center and putting on the bulls uni should motivate Kobe to play out of his mind. We all keep forgetting, that having a legitimate stud is what seperates a team that gets into the playoffs from a team that goes to the finals. We saw last year, what happens when a hot and cold shooting team gets into the playoffs. Sometimes, they look like world beaters, the next day like crap. A guy like Kobe is the difference maker that you put the rock in his hand and let him take over. Gordon and Hinrich
daa84
rick bucher on am1000 just said that the deal with the kings isnt very close.....but he said a deal with ben gordon and ben wallace is being discussed and its believe to involve a different 3rd team that isnt the kings he also added that the odds bryant will be traded this season are 100% Edited October 31, 2007 by daa84
Steve9347
this is getting freaking out of hand. kobe is now rejecting deals to the bulls that pax and buss have agreed on. insanity. although his rejecting them is helping us out because he wants the bulls to dominate. knightni
There's a rumor out there that Lamar Odom was in a car accident today. I wonder how that would affect the Lakers' trade offer?

KevHead0881
For what its worth, Paxson told the Daily Herald that the rumor is false.
jackie hayes
QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ Oct 31, 2007 -> 05:24 PM) For what its worth, Paxson told the Daily Herald that the rumor is false. Yes, but it was recently 90% true. So, if it's totally, 100% false, that makes it only 10% false overall. It has to be 190% false before we can really dismiss it. DBAHO
Hmmm, would people prefer trading Hinrich and Gordon, or Gordon, Thomas and Noah for Kobe?
Chisoxfn
QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Oct 31, 2007 -> 12:29 PM) I was going to ask the basketball experts, if we lose Hinrich and Gordon, who will play pg? Or is that not even a big of deal once we get Kobe It wouldn't be a big deal and duhon is more than capable of being a league average starting pg (especially with Kobe/Deng and the rest of the squad relatively intact). JDsDirtySox
I want to keep Hinrich and Deng... Noah, Tyrus, Gordon can all go. I would love a starting lineup of: Kirk Kobe Lu Joe Smith Big Ben with Noc Tabo Gray Griffin getting minutes off the bench.

BearSox
I would love to see a Thomas, Noah, Gordon, and Duhon/Khryapa deal, but we would need to get another cheap big for the bench.
Chisoxfn
So apparently Magic Johnson, VP of the Lakers, came out and said no deal will happen with the Bulls due to there reluctance to give up Luol Deng. There was also some rumors about a deal with Phoenix/Chicago/LA that would involve Marion heading to LA, Kobe to Chicago, and Gordon/Other Bulls headed to Phoenix. witesoxfan
So if Kobe won't go to Chicago without Deng being there (I think I've read that), and the Lakers won't accept a trade without Deng in it...uhh, am I missing something?
