whitesoxfan101
Well the most interesting man in the world went 3 for 5 with his 1st home run to get his average 3 points below the Ted Williams line at .397. Amazing (and yes I thought this deserved it's own thread...maybe we can make this THE Willie Harris thread, lol). Gene Honda Civic
Williams batted .406 Oops, .407 Nope, .406. I looked at the Korean War years. Edited May 30, 2007 by Gene Honda Civic
SoxAce
And to add to the mistakes of this thread it's "Willie" Harris not "Wille"
South Side Fireworks Man
I wish Willie nothing but success---except when he's playing against the Sox.
Balta1701
Boy, could we ever use Willie right now. Even if he were just hitting .262 a-la 04. That .343 OBP from that year would actually look good in our lineup. Edited May 30, 2007 by Balta1701

BearSox
Come back Willie!!! Next year will be the return of 05... Rowand and Willie will continue to dominate the rest of the season, and KW will vastly overpay for both, only to realize that they aren't the players they were last year. chimpy2121
I recently heard that he was supposed to play football and baseball for FSU, but then ran into trouble with the law in Valdosta, GA. I don't know the truth to this, but I thought it was interesting.
GoodAsGould
I was always a big fan of Willie Harris. I thought our team played best in 04 during that short stint when Valentin was out and Harris/Uribe patrolled the infield.

And the Mendoza line nickname originated for Mario Mendoza in 1979 when he hit .198 in his first chance to play a full season, what's your point? The other was the late great Jackie Robinson."

Not a good excuse, but he did have to deal with a ton of unfortunate personal issues while he was here which I'm sure contributed to his attitude.
