29thandPoplar
They put themselves in a position to be lucky. Meaning, the Twins.

Harry Chappas
The offense was nice early in the game now they have gone away completely. They will lose this game because the offense can not stay on the field for more than 10 pitches. Sorry but the offense is why they lost last year and why they will again. They can not takethe other team out of the game by continuing to score. 6 runs is nice but the Twins pen will end the game with 6 shut-out innigns. This what happend in the Oakland series. fathom
Well, this makes 4 straight horrible starts for our starting pitchers. This team has no confidence at all right now.

This happens about twice a year vs the Twins. We'll jump out to a nice lead, they'll pull their pitcher, and then a couple of no name relievers for them will come in and shut us down. Meanwhile, our starting pitchers can't get a big out to save their life. In the past, it was relievers like Rincon, Guerrier, and Perkins who would shut us down. I guess we can add Miller to the list.
29thandPoplar
Well he walked the leadoff hitter and he has how many, 5 walks in this game? That is bad baseball.

MHizzle85
So the real question is...Will the offense stay in the witness protection program? Or will they step up?
maggsmaggs
All you can do now is laugh at this team and organization. We will be a one-hit wonder until we can develope talent. This team won't succeed unless we have a new LF, CF, SS, 2b and 3B next year. We also need 4 more bullpen arms in addition to Jenks, Aardsma and Thorton. So this team needs a lot and Kenny was ignorant to the fact in the off-season that this team had glaring holes and they just weren't fixed. southsideirish71
QUOTE(fathom @ May 30, 2007 -> 02:06 PM) Well, this makes 4 straight horrible starts for our starting pitchers. This team has no confidence at all right now. The starters were going to have a dead arm period. It happens a few times in the year. The thing that magnifies this is that the offense took a dump and put us in a hole for 7 weeks. If we were 10 games over 500 we wouldnt sweat this as much. But now with a combo of the offense being consistant, our pitching struggling and being 5.5 games out things are a bit more desperate.
joeynach
Who wants to bet Ozzie trots a Garland with 6 ER and 5 BB right back out there to start the 7th only to give up a hit and a walk then take him out and bring in the clown car in a pressure situation. I don't blame Ozzie at all..he is working with what Kenny gave him.. If blame is placed..it should be on the GM..not the manager...

southsideirish71
Now the pucker factor comes up. Its later in the game. And now we will see quick appearances as we put the first or 2nd pitch in play. We will swing for the fences trying to be a hero. The only one that works the AB is Thome.

IlliniKrush
So for the bottom of the 7th: 1) Leave Garland in 2) Yank him 3) Does it even matter? Anyway, he should be done IMO.
RockRaines
seriously, what percentage of runs in this series got on base due to a walk? I think already 4 walks have scored for garland today, at least 3 for both Jose and Danks
